The other day it was brought to my attention that there are some very  unstable people within this community.  In a place where confidentiality and privacy is key, some people tend to forget the simple and basic rules of this hobby.  Have you ever been affected by this?  Has anybody threatened you or your family?  Did a significant other find out because these basic rules had been broken.  I was curious and would love to hear your input.
In the past I have been stalked and almost hurt.  I know I am not the only one.  You can never judge a book by it's cover.
It is  a scary world out there and many people hide behind a phony representation.  I guess it is to be expected since this is a whole different world and we aren't in Kansas anymore.

I have had some uncomfortable moments.  One provider I saw super bowl sunday of '12 and had a pretty good time with nothing out of the ordinary.  Towards the end of our time together I mentioned that I was going to write a review and she was cool with it.  I write the review and it is up for about a month.  Then her and her "phone lady" start stalking the shit out of me.  Saying that I am writing a fake review, what hotel did I see her, etc.  I answered every question they asked me and then they come up with some other bs.  TER even contacted me through pm and I explained to them what was going on.  The review was not negative in any way.  Come to find out she had lied to other clients telling them her tour had been cancelled and it hadn't.  Now the clients that she lied to were pissed bc they found out she lied to them.  I probably got 1/2 of the real story as the provider is clearly a liar but I just couldn't believe how many calls I received over this petty situation.  If she didn't want me to write a review she could have simply asked me not to.

I have had some experiences better than others, but none that I would really have to say were bad.  

The worst experience I have ever had with a provider was in LV.  You are frequently required to meet a lady down stairs and go up to the room together.  While we were riding the elevator, the lady turns to me and asks if I was in town for business or pleasure.  Well the other occupants of the elevator immediately knew she was an escort and I was the John.  The female occupant of the elevator actually hit me as we exited on "our" floor.   Needless to say, our session did not recover from the public faux pas.  

But, I have never been ripped off, never stalked and never busted.

I do my homework and stick to well-established independent ladies.

I can only speak for myself.  I have not had any earth shattering experiences toward the bad side.  I have had a few save my number and text out of the blue, one blew the phone up for a while. The worst that has happened was a no answer on the 2ND call or a "give me another 30 minutes and then another 30 minute type situation".  1 real bad experience, a few not so good, a lot of very nice and several over the top.  
I will never begrudge any layer of safety you deem necessary,  Your rules are Your rules. Again I am only speaking for me.  
For the same reasons as to which You speak  I will never give out personal info.   I do not want anyone calling work.  I do not want you to have my full name. If that means that we never get to meet then we both feel the safer.
I am sure my turn will come as we all make mistakes.  We trust too much, forget a warning sign or just are willing to take the chance hoping for the reward.  
I am sure that you are as careful as makes you feel comfortable in this business as am I.

in this online endeavor. Every client I have met has been wonderful, kind, generous, and accommodating. Touch wood. And in my previous incarnation, I was also very blessed with wonderful friends. I have known a few ladies who weren't as lucky. And one or two men, as well. That's why research is so important, even though it can never protect you 100%. Psycho people will always find ways to pass screening and research.

I have had two weird encounters with providers in the distant past when I first started. I was naive, and excited to make friends in the business; I longed for community- someone with whom I could share "shop talk". At first all was well, and it was wonderful knowing someone else who was working in the same arena. Then came the "sibling rivalry" as we managed to have clients in common... Both were on meds for psychological/mental illnesses*, and both came very near to driving me out of the business completely. Luckily they both eventually got bored with tormenting me, moved out of state and on with their lives (I hope! Lol!). Looking back, it was the potential of what they were capable of that was more frightening than what they actually did. I wish them both well in their lives.

*Disclaimer: I am fully aware that not everyone on meds for mental illnesses is dangerous, and I know many fine people who are on these meds (who doesn't?), but I suspect these two ladies were skipping some doses...lol!

Between nasty threats and being put down by many. I received some really bad e-mails and threats about never being able to work in Florida again. That my reputation will be left to ruins once they get through with me. I was told they would tell others whatever it took to take me down.  The back channel was more than most would have dealt with. Smart person or people as in a gang bang as they were able to cover all they sent with phoney IP info. I did contact a private detective since some threats did feel more from a very unstable person.

Good news ! They stopped .... either they achieved what they wanted and ruined my reputation or their attacking others

An agency sought out revenge on me, decided to have one of their "Collectors" come to my house and bust my window, I have cameras on the perimeter and caught the whole thing on camera.

Then the decision, do I call the po-po and tell them about it? I am sure they will ask "you know him?", or "any ideas why this would happen?"... so I just let it go... $100 bucks later new window and its in the past...

then a few months later, um yea he was arrested with the rest of them "indy" and "prime" asshats...

Indeed. I was lucky it happened while I was new.

Too bad more women (well, people in general) don't realize that jealousy is a wasted and poisonous emotion. There is no such thing really as competition, unless you're exactly the same as someone else. we're all different, and all of us have people who will be attracted to us for different reasons.

I needed to stop seeing a client as it crossed over into a civie relationship and then when I tried to break it off with him, he threatened to out me.
I learned a valuable lesson
Don't trust anyone unless you have the upperhand and I hate that feeling as it is not my nature to be that way.

Seems like some providers need to focus on enhancing their 'game' by maybe learning from those who are better than trying to tear them down. It's not a zero sum game IMO. but the losers will almost always try to tear those above them down thinking they are bettering themselves. Stupid.

I can't complaint most of the time....i have met amasing people, Boys and girls in the hobby....that are cool and fun to be around.......and there is always , few bad apples ...that are going to exist in life.....that are going to be concern about others, or what they do ,and gossip.....instead or be focusing in their selfes......Every where is the same, in the hobby, in a law firm,.....in a hair salon.....anywhere....Is part of life,.  I just let it go.....at the End....there is a God ...watching everything we do!!!!!!!!!!!so i just pray for that type of people and wish them Good.

As often as I encounter it, it always surprises me that the lack of education (across the board) and ability to communicate is rampant across this hobby. From "worst" to everything else, just appalling.

Exactly why I won't give out too much personal information for screening.  If my white list referrals aren't enough, then I'm certainly not going to give out my full name, address, and employer info.  I've passed on several ladies in the past who insisted on detailed screening information.

And one lady who recently moved to Tampa I would LOVE to see, but her screening is too much.

most of the times it has been other providers and not the guys.

As most of you know I got outed like over 3 yrs. ago but it was not someone in the hobby. However, showing my face got me recognized and while it was not pretty at the time it did turn out for the best for me.  Now I do not show my face as I will not risk it at all!!!

The other situations well sadly 2 very well known providers thought they would take things in their own hands and try to cause my life to be miserable.  One (in another state) with whom I have had many, many conversations with, even picked her up at the airport, etc. thought she would take it upon herself to start a horrible rumor about me.  Not only did that get squashed and the true facts came out within the community life was not very pretty for her after that.  Not really sure what her purpose was behind all she did but it's all over with and gone.  The truth did come out and it was not in her favor!!  The other one..well what can I say.  Pretty much all came down to her thinking she knew the truth, listening to other people and she went literally wacko on me.  Texting me, wanting to meet up at my then "home", very hateful nasty emails calling me names (which I still have them btw). Even saying nasty, evil things about me to other people when I was in the hospital last yr and could have died. Worse part was she showed up at my home (gated community at the time so am sure she waited to gain access) and DID knock on my front door.  Needless to say I never answered the door but I was home..this scared the crap out of me for days and I then knew this girl had lost her marbles!! What gives anyone the right to show up unannounced at someone else's home NO MATTER what the reason is. NOTHING!!! Needless to say I don't trust this individual at all and never will..

Sadly, it is usually the girls that get jealous or whatever it is. Maybe it is a mental disorder, drug or alcohol use, again who knows but another reason why I keep to myself and pretty much have for years.  I am in this world to have fun and to please the gents..not to please other girls.  However, I will do what I can to keep another girl safe and continue to give references.

Hopefully those ladies who have done the unthinkable to other's and me will learn from their experience. I just know that my trust runs very very thin and those are the reasons...Putting someone in fear is not a very pleasant thing to deal with. I am just happy that I have moved and now have no worries....I just live my life the way I want to and love pleasing other's...
