We have a lot of hotels because of disney and I drive. . A lot of really good ones too wouldn't be able to name them all. I would say I-drive is your best option as there are some really nice hotels and its centrally located easy for people to get too. I would stick to a hotel on i-drive by the convention center.

What are some nice, "friendly" hotels in Orlando? Any advice is greatly appreciated :)

I haven't experienced one yet that requires key cards to use the elevators.
Avoid Altamonte Springs. Sometimes called "North Orlando". It's out of the way...and LE is a bit hyper there.
International Drive (south of Sand Lake) is good. The Sea World area (a bit farther south) also has some nice ones.
There are some that will surprise you (and your guests) with high parking fees....so you'll want to check for that.

If you want more specific info...feel free to PM me. It's best to avoid putting the detailed stuff on the board.

I would recommend the International Drive area, due to the large conventions. Stay away from resorts, near Sea World, most have guards upon entering the property.

Stay safe.
