Curious if the FKK clubs generally have ATM's actually on the premise, or if you have to stock up somewhere else prior to entering. In that case, where are the best places generally speaking , to exchange dollars, and/or access an ATM so that you've got enough cash to enjoy the day? What method generally gives the best rate? Thanks.
Good point. Because FKKs do business in cash, and a guy can easily rack up 250+ Euros in entry/session/extra fees across a several hour stay, you'd think ATMs would be everywhere in FKKs. Not so. I had to make a pitstop at outside ATMs most days I was in Germany because my bank had a $500US daily limit (~350 Euros) and most FKKs did NOT have an ATM on premise. A couple exceptions I recall include Mainhatten for sure and Oase, I think. Other than that, keep an eye out for ATMs and use one when you see one, because even outside the clubs, they're not as common as the US.
All that being said, ATMs apparently do offer the best, or among the best, exchange rate, with no or minimal fees. I found the money exchange kiosks at airports to be among the most expensive.
No ATM fees for using a DB ATM with a BofA debit card. One of the few redeeming features of that bank, but enough of one so that I will use them for that reason.
Also, Capital One doesn't charge the 1-3% float for transactions most banks do on their VISA/Mastercard/AMEX/Discover. Also quite handy.
