Have never had an issue and have never had any client have an issue logging on to websites.
The only small issue is that a small number of hotels do have key elevators, i think The Hilton and The Metropolitan are key to my knowledge. Shaunna x
I'm going to be in London in a couple of weeks and plan to hobby. I heard a rumor that many hotels have blocks on web browsing that prohibits us from browsing escort adds, agencies, reviews, etc. Is that true? It's certainly not the case in the US, and I would think the UK would be more liberal in this regard.
Just to close the loop on this ... I did go to London, and indeed there was some browsing censorship taking place. Google searches on topics of escorts, porn, etc would find nothing. SafeSearch was on and I repeatedly turned it off and it still stayed on. I searched for answers and apparently Wifi administrators can impose SafeSearch on Google searches, and you cannot override it. So this was at the Hilton, not sure whether the practice is widespread. Having said that, the censorship was not more sophisticated than that. You could still search with Bing, although I don't like it as much. And I could still open all the escort websites that I had linked prior to coming to London. So altogether, I got what I wanted. But there is an attempt to censor. Hope it doesn't get more forceful in the future.
What can happen is if you buy a sim card - then it will automatically block any type of adult-related websites. To unblock this, you have to go into the store (Three or wherever you bought it) and show them your ID. Personally, I've never had any issues with 4- and 5-star hotels, but not too sure about other ones.
Never been to London, but on many U.S. hotels, on the hotel TV channel, you can block adult content. Not sure if this is just for movies, or might also set the Google search to safe search? Some folks are so ashamed of nudity and sex they don't want their kids to see it!
I'm not sure about where you are staying, but there is a block on Google for searching escort agencies in some major hotels I've stayed at. You can counter this by going to YAHOO or AOL and just search in there. Otherwise, I was always able to pull up my favorite agencies.
