Although I do not live in Europe, I have visited a few European countries and fell in love (with the cities of course). My fav so far has been Berlin. What are some of your fav European countries/cities?

Munich to Salzburg or to Innsbruck is just amazing - think Sound of Music.  Take a motorcycle if you can for the mountain runs.

Tuscany is well known for a reason, and they know how to eat & drink.  Granted, the Bavarian beers are great, but wine and local foods (slow food movement) in Florence and surrounding villages is just awesome.  An agritourismo is an easy pick, but sometimes more rewarding is asking locals in a small town, on farmer's market day, where to eat.  Build friendships with repeat visits, eventually you may get to eat dinner at someone's house.  Phenomenal.

The region around Lago di Garda is spectacular, and if the weather turns bad then in just two hours you can be on the other side of the Alps in Austria where it'll be sunny.  The whole region is nearly a second home to vacationing Germans, so the food is unfortunately a bit more Germanic than Italian.

And just to throw this out there, it's the people you meet on a trip that will build the most tangible memories.  Feel free to explore and be curious about others.
