I went with friends about 7 years ago, and it was not a permissive environment. Keep in mind the population of the island is about 300,000 so your expectations should be in line with a small town. The women are very friendly though and you can hook up with civilians without too much trouble. Some say its because they live in a remote area so anyone not from their island seems exotic. Whatever the reason, check out night clubs after 1 am.
