Shelly, The Human Cannonbal, wanted to take his life in some new directions and decided that it was time for a career change.

He made an appointment to see he General manager of the circus.  At the meeting, he informed the GM of his feelings and tendered his resignation, efffective at te end of the current season.

The GM was crestfallen.  Shelly had been a valuable member of the circus troupe, much beloved by the other circus members and the audiences.

The GM sadly accepted his resignation.  He told Shelly,  "you have my best wishes for the new direction you wish to embark upon.    But, you will be hard to replace.  I'll never find another man of your caliber."
