No, 1971.

>A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.

A.D. 102?  That's a matter of faith, I suppose.

>A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

True, though awfully vague.

>California Governor Gray Davis and his adminstration spends it.

I'll leave it to you Californians to determine whether the executive branch of your state government is actually plowing through more than $1 trillion per annum.

A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into perspective in one of its releases:

A billion seconds ago, it was 1959.

A billion minutes ago, Jesus was alive.

A billion hours ago, our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate California Governor Gray Davis and his adminstration spends it.

How could Vanderbecker, if that's who it was, do the math wrong?  How slanted is that?  Jeez!!1

If you have a million dollars you can give your wife $1000/day to spend for almost 3 years before you run out of money.

If you have a billion dollars you can give your wife $1000/day to spend for almost 3000 years before you run out of money.

a mathematician.

but that reminds me of a story about the Hunt family fortune. Lamar Hunt owned the Dallas Texans of the old AFL and they lost over 1 million dollars in the 1963 season. A reporter asked HL Hunt (Lamar’s dad) what Lamar would do if that continued. HL drawled “Son, at that rate, he can only last another 125 years”

"A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate California Governor Gray Davis and his adminstration spends it."

Or a few days deeper into debt the way the Bush administration donates it to the wealthiest Americans.
