In an effort to determine why the head of a man's penis is wider than the shaft, an Italian research team spent one year and $100,000 doing tests.  They determined that the reason was that it increased the sexual pleasure of the man.

A French research team spent 2 years and $250,000 and concluded that the reason a man's penis head is wider than the shaft was to increase the sexual pleasure of a woman.

Finally, a Polish research team spent 2 days and $37 and decided that the reason the head was wider was so the man's hand would not fly off and hit him in the face.
