A guy went to visit his grandfather and they spent the evening chatting the night away, The next morning the guy's grandfather prepared bacon and eggs for breakfast; however, the guy noticed a film like substance on his plate, and asked his grandfather, “Are these plates clean?”

His grandfather replied, “They're as clean as cold water can get ‘em.”

For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, the guy was concerned about the plates, as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg so he asked, “Are you sure these plates are clean?”

The old man said, “I told you before, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get ‘em.”

Later on the guy was leaving and his grandfather's dog started growling, and wouldn't let him pass; so, he yelled, “Grandpa, your dog won't let me get in my car.”

The old man came out on the porch and shouted at his dog, “Go lay down now, yah hear me Coldwater?”
