Have you ever wondered how the symbol of an angel sitting on the top of a Christmas tree came about? Well, here is the unexpurgated story.

 
It was the week before Christmas and everything was in chaos at the North Pole. Santa’s sleigh had a broken runner and the part was still on back order. The reindeer had come down with the flu and were shitting all over the place. In addition, the elves had gone on strike for higher wages. Also Mrs. Claus had a raging case of PMS and was ragging on Santa non stop. To make it worse, the phone was falling off the hook with irate department store buyers demanding to know when their allotment of toys would be coming. As Santa was in a heated yelling match on the phone, there was suddenly a loud pounding at the door. That was it; Santa had had it! He slammed down the phone and stormed to the front door. He threw it open and there in the door way was an angel holding a Christmas tree.

 
The angel looked at Santa and said “Where do you want to put this?”

 
And thus traditions are born.
