Gee thanks for referring to 'Backpages'. There's nothing like that about my ads.  

I simply use astericks to highlight the important info, hyphens in place of bullets to itemize, and the ~ thingy to sign the author of quotes and when I sign off my signature.

The smilies are kinda limited, so there must not be one that sticks out his tongue. I discovered that when I posted my ad but couldn't edit it without mod assistance.

Anyway, when you look at the rules, they state no symbols in the SUBJECT lines of the ads. There's nothing that says anything about the symbols in the BODY of the ads.

I guess we're supposed to assume the rules about the symbols should apply to WHOLE ad, subject line AND body. If that's the case, then the point needs to be made MORE clearly.

Oh well, my issues don't count. What do I know? I'm just some peon who's lucky to be a member.
