While surfind around it seems that at least in Texas, there are more unrated than rated providers.  On one hand I'd rather stick with rated ones to make sure I get what I'm looking for but on the other hand I'd like to see many more ratings.  

So any suggestions on how to minimize the risk (qulity, rip off, etc) of using an unrated provider?

The best bet?  Stick with the well-reviewed ladies, both from TER and ASPD.

I've seen many of the great ladies of Houston and Dallas, and you should have no problem finding a great lady, no matter what your taste, if you stick with the well-reviewed ladies.

Too many people have learned the hard way -- stick with the trusted, well-reviewed ladies.  I did a quick glance at the TER and ASPD boards, and there are at least 40 ladies that have a bunch of positive reviews.
