Dressed fairly conservatively, I ask the store employee where I might find some Tylenol. The gentlemen looks at me & says with a smile "let me show you." I could see his eyes burning a hole through my dress, even though I am fully covered! Then he asks where I am from. It was as if my response lit a fire inside of him! Smiling like a Cheshire cat, we walk along silently. Only now he is walking a little taller, a little closer, and brazenly taking what one can only assume to be mental pictures of me and the girls lol.
A few places I have been today I felt like I stuck out like a sore thumb. I have had this sort of encounter three times today. Once at a greaaat mexican food place I went to, the other at the store while buying wine. The man looks at my id and says "What are you doing all the way out here, and how can I be a part of it!" That just made me chuckle all over (his accent was pretty thick lol). I guess when city meets ... well NORTH DAKOTA ... it's hard to hide itI look forward to enjoying your great state, hopefully with just a bit less awkwardness
....like Utah, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and so on lol (yet to touch ND but I will soon).
Little awkward at first but turns out pretty awesome. It's good being/looking a little different than the norm (in my experience and more often than not).
Also...even covered up and dressed down when you're as busty as we are well it's hard to hide the girls lol.
I wondered if it would go over
Better with a male friend given they say it's not the safest place for a woman to be alone. Is it more realistic to say then your with is looking for work rather than yourself. Thoughts?
I don't think there is anything we can do but try to look as inconspicuous as possible. Last time I even took my makeup off when leaving my hotel and still got looks and questioned about my visit. I love me some Fargo men so I'll keep sneaking in and out.
Hugs,
Larissa
