END OF MESSAGE

Instead of the ISO or anyone have availability in a particular area at a particular time, I would like to throw a question to the travelers (or even the home town people)

When you visit the Chicago area, is there a particular restaurant, food, place to visit, or something you love to do while staying in this great city?

Also, this question goes to the home town people who visit cities outside of Chicago.  Is there something in another city that you have to go back too?  or you can share what you like in Chicago.

I have never been to Chicago before and am finally coming next week. I would love to eat at a  popular place  in Chicago. I would like to try real deep dish pizza too. ;-) I want to shop where people go to shop, Magnificent Mile is it?

I have not been to any nice restaurants so far.   But I did enjoy the John Hancock building view from the 96th Floor at Signature Room Bar, and I love the horse and carriage rides.  :)

Sincerely...

I am from the east coast. Home base is DC and the past two years I lived in Philadelphia Pa. Now for a few months I am in Louisville Ky. I plan on moving back to DC this year, it has been too long and I miss my family and my friends there. Is there any place you have visited and feel like you must go back?

..... the Woodfield Mall up in Schaumburg.  I'm still looking the best pizza in the Chicago area lol and I like shopping lol. I have only visited once so far (plan for more).....not enough experience for major favorites yet but I have some likes. I'm still learning.

Gibson's at O'Hare...I love to stay at the Intercontinental.
Downtown...wow, so many great spots!
Dubliner's.  Hands down the best local flava.  Food is excellant.
Butch McQuires for brunch.  Huge mimosas, great food, very down to earth.
Tavern on Rush for lunch.  Sit outside and people watch.  Order the Cobb salad.
For a quiet glass of wine, the bar at the Park Hyatt.  Waayyy above all, view of the lake.
Very relaxing.
Hotels:
DO NOT book the Intercontinental downtown.  Really poor representation of the brand.
I stayed at the Drake for 8 days last Fall and loved it!  Small room but I had a view of the lake and the location is superb.  Did my meet and greets in the cozy clubby old school lounge downstairs and went to the Watertower for lunch.
I stayed at the Four Points Shereton in Feb., on Ohio and Rush.  Excellant location, right next to a Trader Joes, they gave me a big room which had a fridge and microwave, and I think I got it for $60 on hotwire.  Only three stars, but across from the James Hotel, which has a cool lounge.
Location can't be beat.
The Trump for cocktails!
For the view.
Going to try the Sax hotel this trip.
Looking forward to getting back.
Is it warmer yet??

we will be in the 50s, but dips down again early next week.  But the end of the week is more promising.  I wouldnt expect the 70's or 80's for quite awhile :(
