This is more of an initial exploration of interest rather than any kind of offer but...

I am an amateur photographer (and RS2K member) in Chicago that has been taking pictures for a couple of years and is just getting deeper into human subjects.  Do the ladies here prefer professional photographers or would they use the services of a talented hobbyist with real equipment?  I'm not thinking this is a paid service or any kind of barter.  More sort of like a TFP thing (trade for portfolio - You get free photos, and I get shooting experience without having to pay a model.  Just to be clear: no reciprocal services sought).

Is that something that might be interesting?

I've wondered the same, but from the video side of things.  Now, I wouldn't turn away an "extreme thank you gesture" but I've always felt a little shy about asking for subjects.  Thank you for breaking the ice on it.

My equipment might be a little dated, but just wait 'til you see my tripod.

Just hope that your arrangement doesn't turn into this.

Wow...After reading that thread, it sure dampens my enthusiasm for doing anything of the sort.  Yikes.

if You invert Your tripod once it's set up...and spread the legs...it will help maintain..keep it's balance and function well ;)

communicate...I used an amateur photographer before and he told me he took 300 photos..said he would go through them and put them on disc...imagine my surprise when I only received 25 photos...I called and asked what was going on...once he explained...I understood...so to someone who is Not into photographery...it seems that You would be keeping photos and who knows what You are going to do with them...just communicate and You Will Not have that problem :)
