I notice a lot of guys referring to ladies on this site as hookers. I think there needs to be some clarification on why they do that.

Hookers- Streetwalkers

Call girls - Private appointment ladies

Adult Entertainers - Private entertainment, movies, model work, travel companions etc.

I thinks its interesting that no one takes the time to give ladies there appropriate title. Everyone isn't doing the same thing.

The gentlemen who use "hooker", in my opinion are trying to use the word to denigrate women. They have no respect for us and those are the gentlemen that I never even consider seeing. When I consider to see a gentlemen, I am consenting to sharing my body intimately with someone. That means if they do not respect me during emails or even on these boards they are not worthy of my time no matter what they offer me.

c.  A person, often a prostitute, who is hired to spend time with another as a companion.

companion

courtesan

I said it to a gentleman friend of mine, "Oh, you mean you called a hooker?" and it made him very uncomfortable.  He sort of stammered back, "Ohh... ummm... Yes, I suppose a *mumble hooker mumble.*

He isn't remotely shy, so that was my first indication the word isn't polite... I really didn't realize though before that.

You get money OR a title.

So we'll call the streetwalkers courtesans (Executive Administrator of Global Correspondence, ie: Secretary) and I'd like to be a hooker (General Manager, ie: Owns the f'ing place).

We're all doing the same thing.  Sex worker is fair to everybody and since most of us are doing this to skirt the hierarchy, we don't need one of our own.

Provided you follow the belief that one "classification" is superior to another.

They very well may be... I'd still call it classism and obviously the CJS isn't going to care.

until some white person told me that I should be offended by the word.

I think everyone knows how I feel about the PC police, and at the risk of offending everybody on this fucking fuck board, i am still going to call my hooker friends hookers and I am also going to call my slut friends, sluts. So I guess the PC Police can either figure out a way to get me tossed off this board or learn to live with it.

and for the record, some of my very best friends are hookers, and if you would like to call me a john, or a trick or anything else but late to dinner, I personally won't give a fuck.

It simply amazes me how the PC police can find there way onto every little nook and cranny on the internet, even supposedly anonymous fuck boards. Sheesh, give me a fucking break already.

My father grew up in East TN and literally never met a jewish person.  He was horrified when, at about age 40, someone informed him that his word for informal negotiations (jew) referred to the people and was a slur.  He thought it was it's own word and mannny years later still feels guilty about it.

Also, my niece was shocked that what she thought was Mark Twain's "Engine Joe" was actually using race as an adjective.  :)

The legislators don't differentiate, but the police and court system (the real law) absolutely does.

If you're involved in something, anything, you'd be wise to know the law as enforced more than as written.  Pull the reports, definite patterns to indicate what they feel is a problem.

will someday be considered a slur.

"Colored people" "Chinaman" "prostitute" were all accepted terms at one point or another.

So were "black" "oriental" and "hooker" not that long ago.

One day "African American" "Asian" and "Sex provider" will also be considered slurs and the PC police of the future will be chastising people for using OUR PC terms of the present.

There's simply no need for anyone to *label* women in this adult lifestyle.  Because then that would mean that the men themselves would & should be labeled just the same, but with the endearment of *john*.

And I for one, don't view them as that. Would never call them that. Hell I don't even refer to them as a client.

This ADULT lifestyle is, just that. ADULT!  2 or more adults having uninhibited fun behind closed doors. Where LABELS of any kind IE: John, hooker, call girl,  etc etc etc simply should be left out of the equation.

Less thinking about *labels* and more enjoying the *date*!

that's MY personal opinion.

The bottom line is "hooker is a word for a streetwalker. If a lady is not a streetwalker to call her a hooker is insulting. If a man doesn't want to learn any better then they are  a client I do not want to see. I am not a hooker and do not want to be called, accused, etc. of being one. That title and description are why the profession is still viewed by many as shameful even though men walk around here booking ladies all the time the elusive shame is always attempted to be placed on the ladies. An attorney would be insulted if he were called a paralegal, a CPA would be offended if he were called a bookkeeper. it demonstrates poor manners and lack of class as well.
