You know, a lot of us hobbyist focus a lot of our energies on the sexual aspect of these dates. That's entirely understandable- after all, the hobby is supposed to be about fun.

But sometimes, due to circumstances, you find yourself focusing on other areas of the hobbying experience and these things are not often gone into in these posts.

Today I had a date with Sage. This one had been set up for a while and it had been a long time coming. I always look forward to getting together with her. I had always had the time of my life and in 20 years at this game, I do not think that there could be a better lay anywhere.

But when today came, I just wasn't in the mood for it. Those of you reading this who know me off the boards know that I have been dealing with a lot of stress of late and you guys know why. Going into it publically here is not important. What is important is that because of the stress there have been rough times in my life. And today after another loud family argument, I felt burnt out and just was not of the mindset to go get laid.

But it had been such a long time since I had seen Sage and because I make it habit to keep appointments, I went to see her anyway. Upon my arrival Sage knew that I was uptight. I told her that it had been a rough morning and that I needed someone to sound off on. So, we talked about things. This is the aspect of the hobbying experience that seldom gets talked about. But sometimes, what you need isn't to get laid so much, you just need someone to listen to what's going on and offer some advice.

Sage, as always, seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. I got what I needed off my chest and got a good dose of 'Sage-ly' advice. And that is what I needed more than anything. A perspective from an intellegent, friendly third party person who cares.

And amazingly enough, even though it was hard for me to relax and my normally reliable equipment was not all there as a result- Sage still found a way to get me off! Imagine that?

The wild stories of past dates with Sage and myself can be found in the reviews section of this site. But I just wanted to write this post to explain why Sage will always be my favorite. Knowing someone in the hobby that can give you that 'over-the-top' lay of a lifetime experience is a wonderful thing. How much more wonderful is it that the same great lady also is such a good listener and friend?
