Why do spelling errors irritate me so?confused_smile

It's almost like an OCD response, but every time I see an obvious spelling error on an ad, or even on a discussion post I get actively angry about it. What the hell is wrong with me? I don't know if it's just that I hate when people don't pay attention to what they're doing, or what? Do I need serious therapy? I get a kick out of the young ladies who post really silly things in their ads, and generally just chalk that up to being young, and probably fairly uneducated(although that's certainly not always the case). I also definitely understand those that speak English as a second language are going to have a little bit more difficult time. My favorite one of the day is this headline: "The one in only". Awesome.

Is it really that hard to write like a PhD? Come on ladies, get out your thesaurus and use some big words we've never seen before. That's how you impress guys!

It's about your faux superiority over those that you give your money to.  It's about your controlling nature and how it's relinquished when you choose to pursue your fantasy for a price, and you hate that. So your attempt to control the situation is to talk about the spelling of an ad.

If you want to critique spelling, become an English teacher. But don't fuck your students.
