Where to go

You're young and I would assume want to be around other young people, nightlife, and all the things the City has to offer in addition to your occupation.

I wouldn't consider anywhere but Lincoln Park or the Gold Coast. Close to the Pary, the Lakefront, etc. I had a provider living in my building for years and had no problems.

Parking is a major issue and something you have to decide first. Good luck.

Hey everyone,
I am looking into the possibility of moving to Chicago. I have never toured here but i'd like to move somewhere close enough/far enough from home (minneapolis).

Anything I should know before moving?
Any areas to avoid or look into?

Thanks for any info you are willing to share. I am not looking to move for at least a gew months

Because if you want to work from a private incall, you should get a place in an area where you feel you'll most likely be successful. Amber Monroe might be able to give you some info too. Downtown, O'Hare, and Oakbrook are the most common touring spots it seems.

The Woodfield mall area is very popular too. Close to major expressways and 10 minutes from O'Hare.

Welcome!  First, the most important thing....to your own self be true. Are you interested in the energy of city life and want to live in the middle of it, or do you want to have access to it?  Do you plan on having a car, or will you mostly rely on public transportation?  Are you interested in social and ethnic diversity as far as your interactions, markets, restaurants?  I think once you kinda determine the things that make you feel "at home", there are plenty of neighborhoods and areas to fill your needs.

As far as work, don't know if you are planning to maintain a separate place for that or simply offer incall from the several hotel options available in the Chicagoland area. I don't want to generalize, but I think from the hobbyist's perspective, traffic and the cost of parking is more an issue than distance. Oakbrook area, Schaumburg, and O'Hare are popular.

Best thing is to come and visit. First, do the tourist thing and see the sites and the general layout of the area.  Then based on your interests, contact a real estate broker or one of the professional apartment finders and tell them your needs and they will show you options.

...that's like me wanting to move to Chicago myself or Puerto Rico or etc etc  and I'm not sure if i'd make money or not with touring let alone trying to move there and be there permanently UNLESS I have other plans to make money there outside of escorting. The rent must be paid. I would tour Chicago a few times if I were you to make your mind up about staying there long-term.

I agree with you TM . I traveled here for 2 years before I decided to come back and make my visit business only meaning looking for condo's . Never just pack up and leave that is irresponsible.

Anywhere near Downer Grove, Naperville, Oak Brook, Lemont, Woodridge, that area would be GREAT!

Don't know if it will help your cause......But it sure would be convenient for me!!

You look smoking hot!!

Naperville and Barrington Hills are nice areas.  Schaumburg has lots of things there - the mall, and lots of places to eat.  Oakbrook is also decent.  Bloomingdale is not bad either.

the gold coast is ok if you want to pay $2000-3000 a month in rent.

Which is ridiculous if you are trying to save money . I wouldn't pay 2000
a month to live any where lol!

Well the person that suggested it was right there is alot to do there.  But it would be cheaper to live in a nice area in the suburbs like Schaumburg, Naperville, Barington, Oakbrook, Bloomingdale, and driving to the city as needed for $5-10 in gas instead of paying 2 - 3 times for rent.  Rent in the gold coast area would be $2000-3000 for the average rent.  Buying a place on the gold coast would be $500,000 for a studio, $400,000 for a microloft (even smaller), and 1 million + for the 1-2 bedroom condos.

Stick to the nice suburbs, and have a car.  You will save over $1000-$2000 a month.

Sorry, that's not accurate. It isn't a case of "driving in" to the Gold Coast as if you're going to the Zoo for an outing. It's living there in the area and having access to transportation, all the amenities, getting to know the neighbors, shopkeepers, rooftop deck, etc. It's great to walk to everything.I lived on the Gold Coast for 10 years and still have my condo there.

You can find a studio for 1200 - 1300 and a 1BR for 1500 - 1600. Of course, parking is additional. Your prices for property are INSANE. I would take 900K for my 1BR on Dearborn in a heartbeat and even throw in my deeded parking and a session with the provider of your choice. You can buy a 5BR Greystone for 1.7M.

If you're going to give out information please be accurate.
