That's why I'm paying by the month, not year. For $29.99, if it was up for a week and then I lost it, it would have been worth it.
One thing I see happening post FOSTA is that the cost of doing business is going up. I don't know how long that will be the case, but I've spent more on advertising and my web presence in the last three weeks than I spent in the first three years I was a provider.
I can absorb a higher cost of doing business, but I'm already seeing a few ladies who struggled to get enough bookings before FOSTA deciding it's not worth it and closing up shop. If I have to spend money to make money, I'm alright with that. But it's getting a lot harder for ladies who were barely getting by before this.
In the past, many of the platforms we had, especially local and regional hobby boards, were run by hobbyists (and sometimes by providers) themselves who frequently made little or nothing off the endeavor. Going forward, it makes sense that our platforms will be created and run by overseas owners motivated by profit. If they don't get paid, they have no reason to do it. I predict advertising will get more expensive in general, as the dozens of new platforms get whittled down to a couple dominent ones.
If my new site disappears, I'll just make another one. It's frustrating when it happens, but oh well... I will eventually be building a custom site from the ground up, but I have a lot on my plate right now, and I'm satisfied with the "Maltese" site for the time being. Thanks for the interesting info, but I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it, LOL! I suppose it could convince others to do something else. I'm not going to take my own site down just because it potentially could be taken down.
