I never intended to bring this to the board but it seems the news of my recent difficulty has sprung a leak on this board, and many of you may be wondering what all the well wishing is about.
I have recently been diagnosed with colon cancer and will have my surgery next week. They will remove a foot of the large intstine, and about two inches of the small intestine and reconnect the small with the large. No colostomy bag will be necessary. This of course is a minor inconvenience compared to missing next weeks M&G. That's what really has me pissed off !!
I wish to thank all of you who wished me well and offered me your prayers through your phone calls, emails, and PM's. The friends I have made through this hobby both ladies and gents are the best people in the world. I am closer to you folks than to my civilian life friends. Much Closer !! Your support has been tremendous and with it I have have no doubt that I will beat this thing. I truly do love all of you !!

Guys, if your over 50 and have never had a colonoscopy, GET ONE !! I had one four years ago and it turned out fine but this one didn't. It sneaks up on you fast as there are few symptoms. I am sitting here right now, and except for a little tiredness I feel and look the picture of health.

Wow..This one caught me off guard! Just got back from Sturgis and I guess I got too far behind on the posts to catch this. Good luck my friend, you are and always will be my hero (even with 14 inches of intestine missing). I'll bet you will be back on the saddle in no time but I am just wondering how you are going to explain to the Doctors and Nurses all of the fine looking ladies that will probably be calling and visiting you!

H&T..although I've never had the pleasure of meeting you in person, I've met you through here and always look forward to your presence. I know what it is to go through some frightening stuff and medical doomsayers, and ol' SirDuke is here to tell you that, don't believe em..do the damn thing and get well and back here where you belong! I'm doing alll the things that they said I wouldn't and you will make it through this too. One thing about us mature men, in life, we've gone through some fires and come out better than we thought, so put your raincoat on and know that my prayers and thoughts are with you as soon many others. After all, we still have to meet one day and any friend of SweetK is a friend of mine. Take care and be well.

Although, I suspect we may have been at the same gatherings, I don't recall meeting. However, with your reputation, and all of us pulling for you, things will be fine. Just as you said, you know that our community has such caring wonderful relationships, perhaps even greater than those civilian ones. It is the positive attitude, great humor, and partying yet to be done - that helped me through some dicey situations.
