and no, I wasn't having a good time.  Pingree Prairie, IL experienced an earthquake with a 3.8 magnitude at 4 am today.  No, I do not live in Pingree nor is my incall there.

Not my first ground-breaking experience though ;)

The first time for me was a 4.7 .
The glass of water on the bedside table danced towards the edge. The windows rattled sounding
like a train was right outside . Glad I wasn't
standing that feels like you are balancing
on a swaying beam.

is just a little shaker here in California, but certainly enough to get your attention. I've heard them referred to as "Surfin' the Earth", when they have that rolling effect.

Hi,

massage capabilities!!!!! This, however, was not my first experience!!!!  The bed has often shook when a lovely provider was laying next to me!!!! :o)

who could feel that tremor with all the snow on the ground?  thanks to local snow plowers, i had three solid feet of white compact powder at the mouth of my driveway that i'm sure dampned the blow...speaking of which, thanks for the visit yesterday, Waters!!  Now that had me trembling all over!!

Certainly not as enjoyable as the bed shaking that has occured when I have visited Amanda though, lol.

my dogs went crazy and then I was awake. I looked at the clock and it was 4 AM. I'm 15 miles from the epicenter and heard about it later on the news.

I bet all the California people are laughing at the reaction here in IL. It's extremely rare to have an earthquake in NE Illinois and I didn't even know there was a fault around here. The big fault is New Madrid in southern IL and MO and for all you California people, it has produced the largest quakes in the country. The last one was in the late 1800's (8.2 ?) as I recall and we're overdue by some accounts.

Heh... yeah, I kinda sorta got a kick out of it.
Yesterday February 9, happened to be the 39th anniversary of the "Sylmar Quake" in 1971. That was a 6.7, larger than the typical shakers of the San Pornando Valley.

as a matter of fact , that did make me laugh, and i live in California
HA!

Woke me up and heard the light fixture tingling.  At first thought it was the wind, but realized there was no wind, and then thought we must be having an earthquake.  Rolled over and went back to bed.  Earthquakes are no big deal in the Midwest because they are so rare.  Since news is something out of the ordinary, it is a story here while snow is a minor story.

Amanda, I would love to shake your bed with my 3.8 but 4 am is a liitle early for me.  You are speaking code, aren't you?

I don't mind early morning get togethers, but 4 am is much too early for me too!
