I have no idea why this seems to be an issue for people.  For an internet chat room there are a lot of rules and hurt feelings around here.  

Maybe some people aren't that good at research.  Maybe they have trouble deciding who they should contact. Maybe it's difficult for them to contact a bunch of girls because they're at the office, are married, or for whatever reason.  Or maybe saying something like, "I'm going to poke a bunch of smot, and go to a bulls game.  Any ladies under 30 in the city and want to meet me please respond," is a good way to meet someone with similar interests.  

Honestly, I don't know why someone does it and I don't really care.  If you don't either then do what I do, DON'T READ THE POSTS!!  

Live and let live people.  I normally don't care enough about anything to post, but I hate the big brother thing.  If you don't like abortions, that's cool, don't get one.  But don't tell everyone else that they're not allowed to get one just because you don't like them.  Catch my drift?

O.K.  Returning to not caring about stuff.   My only other request is that we try to bring back some retro words for sex.  If someone told me, "I porked this chick last night," I would shit myself laughing.

Because, it's ridiculous. What if the poster is moderated? The post may not show up for hours, even 24 hours later. Also, TER is not an internet chat room. It's a message board. Some people can post at will, some are moderated. Chat Rooms are different. Everyone who is in/on a Chat Room.....are live and in person. On TER, very few are live and in person.
Because, if the poster posts at 6pm...what are the chances a gal will just-so-happen to be logged into TER, she just-so-happens to have nothing to do at that very same moment a guy asks..."Who is avaiable right now...?"
Do you homework, plan ahead. Don't look desparate, its lame.

Looking for suggestions or area info and things like that is fine. But when someone comes on an says "I'm looking for now, be here in 5 minutes" is poor taste.

Outside of the fact that you should take your own advice and not read post that you don't agree with (on a serious note, how do you know you don't agree with the post if you don't read the post?)

To put a blanket statement on a public board:

"Any ladies under 30 in the city and want to meet me please respond"

I am from Vegas, so should I respond and expect to be flown into Chicago to meet him after he gets off work, do a session, then fly back home? That is a hell of an outcall.

Is ANNOYING, the reason it annoys me is because the poster does not mean what he is saying....nope he really does not mean that....nope not at all...not a single word of it.

Let's think about this here and let's be realistic.....let's say Mr. Poster is not physically attracted to transsexuals and lets say that he got 15 responses from ladies who are beautifully gifted with a love pole.....or let's say he does not like Asians, or black girls, or bbw's....and those are the ladies who respond....is he going to REALLY DO A SESSION with ANYONE who responds? Or has he wasted his time with a cattle call?

Well odds are there are 90lb blonds, Asians, black girls, bbw's and yessssssss some chicks with sticks who are reading his MINDLESS post..... we think to ourselves: does he REALLY MEAN "anyone" or is he wasting bandwidth with his DUMB ASS POST? Or should he go put his big boy draws on and GO DO SOME RESEARCH? Fortunately, for the most part we read his DUMB ASS POST, and keep it moving, because we know he does not REALLY MEAN "ANYONE"

IMHO what he is doing is a cattle call, it is a guy marketing himself and saying he wants to session with a provider and that is fine, but the OP needs to be specific....and for the hobby being that specific means you take the time to research and find someone you REALLY want to spend time with.

Yup we see it as a stupid ass post because it is a stupid ass, poorly worded, lazy mans post.

Valid points, all around.  I'm not saying it's necessarily a great way to go about things (lazy and stupid seems to be fairly accurate as a few of you have pointed out), especially if it lacks details.  My point is why do you care?  I'm a believer in the free market.  If it doesn't work and people don't get the response they want from these posts they'll stop.  If it keeps happening maybe some guys are getting responses.  Not everyone is a "savvy" hobbiest that spends hours looking at ads in places like RS2K, cross references reviews, tineye, etc.  Personally, as a nerd at heart I overanalyze the crap out of this decision.  I'm sure there are a ton of ladies I would dig, but when I decide to "hobby" I agonize over the decision and research the crap out of it.  

As far as taking my own advice goes, I don't read those posts (I'm a dude. These posts are directed at the ladies).  What I have noticed is the responses after those posts that are titled something like "another one of these," "hasn't this been done before," type of thing.  The one of those that I happened to read that made me post my original thought was some person asking moderators to, well, moderate these types of posts.  I think arguments, dicey topics, whatever make for more entertainment on this message board (excuse me for calling it a chat room.  Didn't know the difference).  As I said, free market, less regulation (however don't make assumptions of my political leanings based solely on that).   I guess the one way I should take my own advice is that if these people should be allowed to post these annoying messages, you should be allowed to criticize them.  I'll shut my mouth now.  

And yes, I am a bundle of joy.  As sweet as the days is long and as cool as the other side of the pillow  I'm sure you are just as alluring as your  name suggests.  I would totally pork you.  

They want to know if anyone is available NOW.  Ok, that means that even if they are serious about meeting someone the likely hood is that they are not even thinking of allowing enough time for screening, now does not mean I can wait till you get me checked, it means now.  I have responded to these requests and the minute I bring up screening *poof* I never hear another word.

As well, many of these posts are put up by people who are new(hence why they are posting an ISO rather then doing the work themselves) and MODERATED meaning their post is not added till long after the NOW they were looking for.

They don't add specifics, which is the same reason alot of posters get very little response when they ask for a date in a certain area and ask guys to suggest.  How can you suggest a lady when you have no idea the type.  I mean your type or another mans types MIGHT be the same but it might also be one completely differing ends of the spectrum.  

Lastly, in all my years not much ever comes from those who post one liners.  Be that they send an email or post a thread.  A one liner is almost always a waste of time.

That and if you want responses you need to have some credibility. Honestly guys aren't gonna just give up any names; that means the ladies need to trust you to contact you.  TER is not bullet proof.  So some kind of posting history will help.  There will always be assholes quick to shout do your own research, Fuck'em.  If you have a legit reason to ask then ask. I did several months ago because I was hoping to find somebody that was good do convenient outcalls to me in the southern burbs.   Unfortunately still waiting for such a lady but the post led me to one of the most amazing lady's in the biz.  I'll keep her name to my self for now as she is quite shy.

if you don't like the post then don't read it. It is not for you (any of you, or me for that matter) to decide what can and can't be posted if it is within TER guidelines. To request that these posts be moderated is just plain ... I'll let you fill in my blanks. Like it was said above, supply and demand, as long as someone gets replies then they will keep coming, and if not then they will stop. I'll never know 'cause I skip them, just like you can ... and I could care less what all of you "Board Owners" think about me posting under an alias! This board belongs to everyone here, no matter how often they post or what they post (again withing guidelines of course).

... expressing a freedom of speech stance. I was raised to "stay out of grown folks business" so whether I like a post or not I don't have an opinion one way or the other because it has nothing to do with me.

But as a provider they actually DO affect me and it is here that I can agree with Allure` the lack of details is the problem. I have thought about responding to ads looking for same day appts (not necessarily" meet in and hour" ones as it takes me an hour just to get ready) and have immediately dismissed it assuming they are uninterested in BBW, looking for a blonde, or hoping for an incall.

So I will say that taking some time to provide some details would eliminate the 3 minutes I spend deciding whether or not to respond.
