Ads for all USA cities have been removed from TER?

sites are starting to cover their asses already. exactly what we thought would happen is happening.

What is happening with the US boards?

I feel like if anything she should remove reviews instead of Ads

Y'all could move to advertising on sites hosted outside of the US?

Be grateful this website isn’t gone yet.  Soon it will be

If this website goes, then as a consumer, I’ll be “hanging up my hat” at it were. Without a means to verify if a girl is legit or not, I won’t take the chance. I have always relied on TER reviews for that confirmation.

the BILL doesn't go into effect till Jan 2019, plenty of time to find a new host in Canada, or Europe.  Till then Gentlemen start figuring out who you want to see and get screened, as well figure out which sites are hosted in the US and outside of it.  Most ad sites are based outside of the US while most agencies are still based in the US.  I am going to start my move over to outside of the country or more vague verbage so I can keep my site.  Either way stay on top of things and keep an eye out.  They are moving us back to the phone book or trying to...  I am sure it will all workout in the end  Be cautous and careful who you visit from here on out

For providers with a good reputation this shouldn't be a big deal.  And,  if a provider has a base of regulars, things will be good.  On the other side, if you don't have a good reputation or haven't taken care of regulars, things could be lean for awhile.

That might possibly be why some are taking action now.

I Will need to find where I read that.

Not constitutionally possible in the United States, ex post facto

For those interested do a search  for "Allow States and Victims to Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act," also known as FOSTA.

Wowsahs. It's like Y2K - only it's actually happening.

There will be a solution to all of this.  I don't know enough about this bill to know how much it will or won't effect us.  I do know that like I mentioned in a post the other day,  we are grateful that we have a base of clients who trust that we put out quality and don't necessarily need to read a review to make a decision!

The only thing older than this profession is the agenda to get rid of it.

In the short term, TER is over reacting. If this is signed (and it will be), then it doesn't go into effect until Jan 2019. However, I imagine that we will see the effects of it much sooner (as we just have with TER). Additionally, AFL-CIO (love em or hate em) already has plans in place to tie this up in court for a very long time. I have spoken to 2 lawyers and a Judge about this. All three of them are calling is unconstitutional. Blah blah blah. At the moment, it is enough to rattle enough people to either pull ads (TER), or make other changes in response.

My plan is to make myself a little list of all the ladies and/or agencies that I have EVER planned on seeing. Maybe do a little pre-screening. So, if this all goes away, I still something to fall back on (back to 1995).

In the meantime, places like TER, etc will move everything offshore. Twitter will probably go away as its not going offshore anytime soon, but they will adapt the style of postings. If the feds try and block US based access, we just all go to a VPN model (as we already do when in China and S Korea, they try and block just about everything). We should all probably be on a VPN anyways if not already.

The AFL-CIO???!!! What the fuck are you smoking? ROFLMFAO

You do know that the AFL-CIO is a fucking labor union for fucks sake, don't you?  Anyone who could get the AFL-CIO mixed up with the ACLU is not likely to have a judge on speed dial. Sorry Jimmy, but I call bullshit.

I just don't understand why the usually so vocal free speech activist are not up in arms more.

Oh I forgot...

All of us helpless women are victims who need protection and all you men are evil exploiters.

This is just an attack on Free Speech under a different name, and in the guise of helping others.

Are there actual victims out there?
Of course there are.

But FOSTA/SESTA won't protect them in the long run.  It will just force them into a dark place where they'll have even less access to help.

Why? Because no one will know they're there.

Europe, despite "kinda"  having all the freedoms we have here, is the place where governments place restrictions on what people can say/publish and how.

Not here!!!

In our country, where trial lawyers rule,
what platform/host is going to take a chance of publishing any content that could/might possibly put them at risk of some kind of   liability.

This is NOT just about the hobby.  Not for long anyway.

Full Disclosure:  Some of my favorite special friends are trial lawyers. Lol

But seriously. The world seems upside down and Canada suddenly seems friendlier.

Hell, I've heard good things about Tim Horton.😉

Tim Horton is okay, I wonder how the hobby is up there.

Well.   I live in uber liberal New Orleans.  You all know that we live and let live down here.  This is especially true if you decide you want to be a provider, change your sex, and so on.  In contrast, grew up in a small,  rural,  ultra conservative, fundamentalist (hypocrites) kind of town.   Being myself where I grew up was discouraged.  So, I was a really good girl.  I knew I would wind up in New Orleans one day.

As for this bill that can basically make online providing harder, I believe that Trump will sign it because the types of people who voted (I entertain some of them each week) for him will see him as some white knight ridding the country of the evils of this world.  However, he and his Congress sure do love porn stars and bunnies and providers.  I think it is highly hypocrital of them all.  Considering.  Not to mention, it would make Trump look better in the eyes of his constituents (hypocrites)  with his recent porn star and bunny troubles.  I hope he gets chewed, screwed and barbecued by them all.

Reading the Chicago ads was a nightly ritual for me...and my favorite part of the TER site.  Let's hope this will be temporary!

Proactive > Panic.

There are necessary steps to avoid problems in the future, try to work on those first. But at the same time, step back, Breathe, and look at the resources you still have.

One of the things I have learned to do is to take an inventory. What do I have now? What might I lose in the future? How much time do I have? What do I need to do now, and what can wait? And mostly, how can I use this?

I'm not going to say everything is going to be okay because for everybody, it's a different story. What I will say is, it's okay to panic, let yourself panic, but make the decisions you need to make after the Panic has subsided.

This is really messed up, we don't know all the answers yet, we have to wait, but there are things we can do to make things work so that we can have our human needs fulfilled.

A nice little exercise for this is to make a list. Pros and cons, and also, what do I have control over, and what do I not have control over?

Making lists of things you can do to assure your needs will be met, but possibly not in the same process as it was before. These are big changes if they do pass and get signed. From what I'm reading we have some time. But at the same time, use that time to make a plan.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.

One good thing is, we still do have some resources. It will be harder now, but use what you can while you've got it!

Xo,

C
