I realize a lot of gentlemen still go seek ladies of backpage. I just don't understand why. Most of them use fake pictures and I have heard far too many horror stories.. Is it really worth it if the lady advertises for less.. ijs.. either way what do you do if the lady is not the lady in the pictures as she advertised?

Yes, not being the provider in the pics is bad.  But to me, it's equally bad that your middle name is Photoshop, or your pics are over 10 years old and you no longer look like the pics. There are many providers NOT on Backpage that take those liberties.

I don't do BP and haven't since my first year in the hobby. Most of the ads are scams or B&S but there are gems to be found if the guys do good research. IMO, it's not worth the effort, it's hard enough researching TER providers between inflated scores and fake reviews. The added headache of BP isn't worth my time no matter how good the deals. I'd rather not hobby for a month than go through all of that.

An experienced hobbyists usually knows how to browse on BP, and find decent providers. But I wouldn't advise a newbie to venture on BP.

I've read through a couple of post about BP not being a good place to select providers. I've also read that BP is not too bad. As a new provider, how can I determine which sites are more reputable?

Here's a quick (but not infallible) way for you to evaluate advertising media. Look up rates being charged by at least a dozen ladies who advertise. The more, the better. Avereage them.
Then do the same with different media. Compare the averages with the rates you wish to charge. That will point you in the right direction.
TER posters seem to be ladies that strike my balance between what I can afford and the talents and attributes I look for.

 In my opinion Eros and RS2K are the "most" reputable.  That being said, "most" is a relative term and there are still plenty of fakes (particularly on Eros).  I believe Eros and RS2K also charge for listings so there is a cost to providers for using them.  There are obviously many sites but those two are ones I focus on (as well as a number of very fine agencies like Michelles, Apropo, etc).  BP is a hit or miss proposition (with mostly misses in my view).  However, I still find myself regularly checking BP for my next all time favorite.      
 
 Not matter where I find a new face, I always follow up with research (google the phone number, google image the pictures, check TER, etc).  Sometimes I take a chance but I go into it knowing I am taking a chance.  
 
 That's my perspective and I'm sticking to it until I change my mind.

have overly photo shopped pictures, old pictures or pictures that are taken from strategic angles. The reality is many pros / non BP providers have pictures that are not close to what they look like in person. One could technically refer to these pictures as "fake" too.
