To the visiting ladies...

I'd like to make a small request. If you make plans to see a hobbyist while visiting and your plans change for one reason or another, how about dropping a line to let us know? It's not really fair to keep us on hold forever. A short email saying that your plans have changed would be appreciated.

To anyone ready to pounce on me about Nikki Avalon, this has nothing to do with her, LOL...

I sent screening info to a touring lady 6 weeks before she was here, right after she posted an ad.  Got an almost instant email response (ie automatic response), that she'd contact me in a few days to confirm after the screening was done.  I reserved 2 hours downtown, which can be a huge hassle living in the burbs, but she wasn't offering anything else.  In the meantime I read 10 pages of glowing reviews.

4 weeks passed with not a single word from her but she took the time to post another ad, I emailed again asking if we were on, still no response.  My discretionary budget allows for 2 hours of playtime per month, 3 hours tops, with no response I saw a local favorite for 2 hours the weekend before.  Didn't see it as a problem, because as can happen in 6 weeks, other things in life popped on to my schedule and I wasn't holding the date in anticipation of her response anymore.  At 10:45 pm the night she sends me a confirmation for downtown the next night.  I sent a short but polite response that I had other commitments for the week since she hadn't confirmed earlier.  Her response was a little bit pissy about me wrecking her busy touring schedule and she would never cancel without telling me as soon as she did.  I resisted the urge to tell her to go to hell.

Just like their plans can change, I can't imagine why they think ours wouldn't change if they never took 20 seconds, just once in 6 weeks time, to confirm with us.

Never seen anyone with as much luck as you. I've only had one cancellation in three years.

Nope. She pre-screened me weeks ago and said everything was good to go. OK, great. Two weeks ago, she put up an ad and not having heard from her, I asked what days would work for her. She responded pretty quickly that she hadn't firmed up her plans for downtown/out here yet which is why she hadn't set up a firm time. She said she'd let me know as soon as she firmed up her schedule. OK, great. Nothing after that, she came and went. I emailed her at the beginning of the week asking if we were meeting up. No reply. Odds are she stayed downtown the whole time. Fine, but how about a quick note letting me know? Finally gave up on her yesterday and decided to see a local whom I've wanted to see for a long time and spent the extra I was saving for the visitor on extra time with the wonderful (and I mean wonderful) local lady. Overall, things worked out great as you'll read about shortly.

Nothing against the visitor but it would have been courteous to just say "hey listen, I decided to stay downtown" and let me off the hook, don't you think?

I've been dissapointed by a couple of cancilations but the ladies have always let me know well in advance and I do appreciate that.

In my limited experience with traveling ladies, when I've scheduled well in advance, I've found that they tend to wait until they arrive in the area to make contact and confirm appointments.  They like to concentrate on their appointments one city at a time.  So if I don't hear back from them after I've been scheduled and verified, I'll wait until I know they are in town and then attempt to contact them for confirmation.  No reply by the day of my scheduled appointment and I write them off.  So far I've had good luck in that respect and not been canceled on.  The key is to just be patient, especially with traveling ladies, and let them handle things at their own pace.  What's the saying?  All good pussy comes to those who wait?  Or something along those lines.

I waited till I knew she was here and then sent an email asking when we were getting together. Never heard back... so I moved on.

I know of a visiting lady who took all my info and references (she did not take RS2K, so it was a hassle asking providers if they will give a reference) then nothing.

She keeps posting that she is coming, but I am done with her.

A note about a cancelled trip is a professional thing to do.

she was here - I saw a mini-review posted about her right after she got in so someone saw her.

I always make sure that I let a gent know if I am not going to make it on tour. However nothing short of a massive snow storm will keep me from Chi town at the end of this month!!!!!

Hello everyone!

I was just reading the Chicago board as I will be making my first tour stop there next week.

Being new to touring (yes, this is my first!), I went one further and hired an assistant.  She handles all my screening and correspondence and makes sure that my appointments, and I both are on point with my schedule.

This might be a good idea for some other ladies as well!

and thanks for taking scheduling and communication seriously.

I have had only two cancellations (same agency, oddly).  I wonder if some tours are planned on spec to see what the response will be?  It is my sense that tours are something of a financial risk for all but the most popular providers.  Between a poor response and NSs, a tour can be an outright loser.  If it were me, and the choice was between losing money I couldn't afford to lose and canceling, I guess I would cancel.  This is not say I would approve of being kept hanging while the provider makes up her mind.  I infinitely prefer the idea of being able to know in advance that there will definitely be a date.  But I don't want a provider to take a bath.  That makes it an unhappy hobby for someone.

LOL, not meant the way it came out! You know what I mean. She was hot and my guess is she overbooked and I lost out to the "downtowners". I have no problem with that, just say you're not coming out and it's fine. But don't leave me wondering...
