How short is short notice?

So I made an appointment with a girl about a week in advance.  Turns out I had to cancel so I sent her an email.  Note that I canceled over 72 hours in advnace.  She replys saying how thats pretty short notice.  Im like thats short notice? Is there something im missing that takes place 72 hours in advance? Do most girls consider this short notice?

Generally this is more than adequate notice unless you booked an extensive period of time (all day) and she has turned away other requests for that period. In this instance, even with three days notice, she may have counted on that revenue and find herself scrambling to make it up.

The other instance where three days may be inadequate is if she is travelling from out of state to see you and already booked accomodations and airfare and now has no guarantee of covering her expenses.

Other than those scenarios, I would say 72 hours is definitely enough notice.

I uwually schedule 2wks or more in advance, sometimes a month, sometimes a week, in rare situations do I schedule shorter than that.  But I'm with Sinful on her answer, saying it depends on the appt length, whether you are having an exclusive travel for her to come to you.  But for the average 1-2hr appt or so, 3 days is plenty.

Maybe if you made the appointment 3 months ago. Even if that was the case things come up an it was very considerate of you to give a full 72 hr notice.  You probably gave her more warning than most of us would have; why?  We don't plan to cancel, things come up.  I assuming the only way you could have let her know any sooner is if were planning on canceling the appointment when you made it. The most notice I personally have been given about a cancellation was six hours.  The day a  provider cancels on me three days early may be the day I have to quit hobbying d/t dropping dead from a heart attack.  You gave her plenty of time.  Comments like hers wont get me to reschedule either.

BTW, three days is more than adequate.  Just had a conversation with a guy the other day who was wanting to book an appointment with Geanna in July.  I told him to call me the last week of June and we would talk about it then.

I have found that the longer out they book, the higher the percentage that they will cancel.

There are some real screwballs out there, me included. I tend to plan my playtime way in advance, since most of it is when I'm travelling. There was one lady who I had been electronically flirting with on the boards, and when I found that I'd be visiting her city, I half-jokingly asked her for a date six months in advance. It didn't scare her away, and we had a wonderful day together.

set up your time well in advance.  You are such a sweetheart and make sure that you have the right times and dates well in advanced.

BTW, the restaurant we tried first isn't just closed anymore, it is GONE!!  They knocked it down.  Too bad it was a very night piano restaurant that I am sure would have been more quiet and special for our date.  I have the perfect place if you ever come back!!

Planning a trip is a good time to plan the date, especially if the provider is in high demand. I tried getting service the last time I was on a trip and found that I couldn't get any call backs from a few local providers before I left for home. I should have planned ahead of time, the ones I wanted to see were out of town on their own trips.

I'll plan weeks ahead for visitors I really want to see and even a week ahead for locals. Getting the provider and me at a convenient meeting place takes take some work between the construction and the off-limit areas. Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I planned less than 3 days ahead.

If I'm playing locally, I don't need to plan too far in advance.  However when I'm traveling, I've often made appointments up to a month before my scheduled trip.

Since my time if often limited when I'm traveling, I probably would not have been able to see some of the more popular ladies, if I didn't plan far in advance. :-)

I've had my ATF cancel twice on me at the last minute (once same day ~3 hours prior, once literally last minute) for two different reasons.  Shit happens, and if she wasn't my ATF, to be honest with you, I would have never called again, no matter how good the reviews are, etc...  There are too many good, reliable providers in this town.

My opinion, unless you booked something extraordinary, is that 72hrs is more than enough.

I thought I was the only one who planned so far in advance (often a month).  I also had to do it when I was traveling and now do because I still have to schedule my time.

Three days is a lifetime in this business unless it was a situation where some made travel arrangements or made some extraordinary sacrifice to see you. In most cases it should have been enough and perhaps this person had already spent your donation so to speak. Of the three cancellations that I have had to make, only one of them was last minute. I was involved in an accident on the way to appointment. On the other hand, I have traveled to a providers incall and told that she has to cancel because of something last minute. When I asked for an appt later in the day, she said call me at such and such. I did and she didn't return my call. Months later, she sends me an e-mail asking if I wanted that appt. and I said yes, but that I was just leaving to see someone else. She got the point. So stand your ground. You are more of a gentleman than most.

Had one say midnight is cool in mail here on TER.

Called at 10:30, left VM, called again at 11:45 and 12:00 and 12:04 with no answer, no return phone call...

Obviously, sh!t happened on her end and so it goes... I'm in the area ready and BZZZZT, nothing.

Yes, 72 hrs notice is more than enough.
