 Plant a flag somewhere

The flag of Italy has a red panel, not an orange panel. Having some Irish blood in me, I'd know the difference.

FYI:

The Union Jack, shown, is a superimposition or overlay of the crosses of St. George (England), St. David (Wales), St. Andrew (Scotland) and St. Patrick (Ireland). It is the flag of the United Kingdom, but technically, not of the individual countries. They each have their individual "cross" flags.

At the time of the American Revolution, Ireland was not part of the UK. The Union Jack at that time did not have the diagonal red cross overlaid on the white Cross of St. Andrew.

Almost ... the Union Jack does not feature anything from the cross of St David (gold cross on black) or the Flag of Wales (red dragon on green/white) because in 1801, Wales was part of the Kingdom of England when the UJ was designed. The Flag of Wales has existed for centuries, but only recognized officially since 1959. Still it doesn't feature in the Union Jack.

... enough Vexillology... and a very nice St Patrick's Day picture BTW.

So close too that orange looks so dark on my screen I took it for Italy.

But the important thing is that you had some fun and enjoyed the day. I got my 1st ever taste of Tullamore Dew Whiskey and I feel converted. The lady I was with is a bigger fan of Guinness than whiskey, so we had both! Life is good  :-)
