The Taste may not be much anymore for us Chicagoans, but still may be interesting for an out of towner to experience. But if you do end up finding it lame and overpriced, there are plenty of great restaurants in the city from every cuisine in the world to get your grub on in. Yum!
I heard the city has the highest sales tax in the country and has extra taxes on a whole bunch of stuff. But regardless, I'm sure the Taste will still be fun.
Haven't been there in a while, but from what I hear, you'd better bring a small fortune with you. Not to get too nostalgic here, but I have awesome memories of going to "the taste" when it was held at the old Navy Pier as Chicagofest. I can remember seeing Cheap Trick for about $5. This was like 1980. Now, that same $5 will get you a 3-inch italian beef sandwich with all the fixin's - stale bread, tepid juice, and a 50-50 mixture of beef/gristle! But don't let me discourage you. Enjoy!
It's not as good as it used to be.. A lot less restaurants are participating... .. It used to be one of my favorite things to do visiting chicago... Check out the other festivals too while you're visiting!!

Already almost fully booked. Chicago is the cream of the crop. Havent advertised yet. Just pre-bookings. I treat the lovers the way they deserve to be treated. They are not cheap @ all. Some of my Atfs are located there. Cannot wait!!!
