I rarely travel but decided to give Chicago a try.  And I just love it there.  The men.  The restaurants are almost shocking with the quality and well, it's just great.  Even the hotel restaurants are stellar with excellent service.

And the men.  Jesus.  Really.  Just masculinity in its purist form.  Even the ones that have a strong slant to alternative activities are just completely masculine.  Is there something in the water?  Could the ability to withstand bitter cold be some of it?

Your city is completely lovely.  And although I haven't been able to visit museums, yet, I will be going in that direction when I return in December.  The people have been just wonderful and that includes folks on the train.

So ... what is it about Chicago that makes me seriously consider getting an apartment there?

Warmly,
Elisabeth

The city offers alot.  Don't forget the universities and museums and that wonderful lake front.  I am biased, but there are only maybe 3 North American cities I would live in, and those other two are in Canada. As far as the the cold, well baby the Chicago men will keep you warm.

That's ANOTHER thing that I liked about Chicago.  The men WILL keep you warm and most had a lot of HAIR.  I LOVE chest hair and just hair in general.  I didn't see men who were shaven in their private parts like they are in Dallas (which isn't a problem, I just like hair!).

I'm a native Dallasite and I love my city.  But there is a beat in Chicago that just draws me in.

Viagra Triangle...LOL !   Elizabeth, I could not agree with you more , and I come from the hobbyist point a view.  Chicago is a vibrant beautiful city that knows HOW to be a city.  I loved my visit there last Spring and fell in love anew every night...uhhh....not with those masculine men you mention, but the sensational ladies of  Chicago.    Can't wait for my next visit as I long for a beer & cheesburger at Harrys !!!

Yes ... well, oddly enough, I'm an older and larger woman and the new friends that I made in Chicago tended to be my age or much younger.  Which was a treat in its own way.  ;)

Chicago DOES just "know" how to be a city.  It also knows how to treat visitors.  Heck, even when I was checking out of my wonderful hotel in OakBrook, the lady gave me a coupon for my taxi ride to the airport.  And of course, the taxi driver was a good conversationalist.

Either I've just had a few great experiences with my visit or it truly is a remarkable city!  I'm believing it to be the later.

Elisabeth

It has a vibrant urban core with a density like a European city and unlike most American cities (other than NYC and SF).
