Like others have suggested, file a dispute with PayPal. Homegirl has to be crazy to use it for this anyway.

Well Ive been out of the game for awhile but saw someone I wanted to see and (against my better judgment) I prepaid reputable provider recently.  The first time she said she messed up her dates and had to rebook for the following week….i said fine.  Then I never heard from her and when I reached out after our second scheduled date she gave a reason of an "emergency".  I said fine again as emergencies happen and just asked to let me know when id get the refund and wished her well.  She was very responsive and said no problem (or her assistant did) and I was told in a week or two Id get my funds.  After two weeks passed I reached out again and now I can't even get a response.  I prepaid thru paypal and was wondering if anyone has suggestions.  I assume I'm screwed but thought Id ask the board.  I of course want my money but also would like people to be aware of the dealings with this individual but I also know certain rules apply when referencing providers.  Thanks for any info!

1) Never pre-pay.  You can contact Paypal and dispute the charge/payment [not sure since I never prepay].  
2) Simply post who the provider is or tell folks who it is via a PM.

but if you used a green dot moneypak card (which would be the smarter thing to do on both the provider's side and the client's side), you can't get that money back.

you paid for a service that you never received.  Quite frankly, this is why I don't use paypal unless its with a moneypak card.  PayPal will refund your money for almost any reason when it comes to non-tangible goods/services.

Those of us who make good on our services but ultimately get chargebacks are way more cautious of credit-card transactions.

Thanks!  Where would I post…the only other time I tried to mention a provider was for a NCNS and was deleted.  Would I just mention her name on this thread?  Thanks again.  And never again will I prepay

Totally unfair and uncool. Please warn others.

I think pre-paying is fine if it is for a traveling provider and to secure your session.
It seems this situation won't last long if she is well reviewed here and starting to
rip clients off it will catch up quickly.

Why not contact TER to see what u r allowed to post about your situation and her name.
Hopefully that will speed the refund process up

Ya know it's incidents like this that providers whom actually go through with dates can't get a F-ing DEPOSITS... Blast the cunty out!!! I'm so sick of dishonest providers screwing over clients which makes the providers whom actually are honest, who's making something ourselves through this HOBBY lifestyle HARD!!!   It's NOT F-ing rocket science... Out her to PayPal, since she is using the service for her sexwork business it is against their TOS and they can AND will confiscate her account upon watching her.  She screwed you, you screw her..karma

There are many ROBs amongst our ranks on both sides of the fence. Unfortunately, those of us who are honest and reputable suffer because of the miscreants who ruin things for the rest of us.

This guy isn't getting his money back and disputing it on Paypal given their dislike of this business is a big risk. One wrong word and he'll lose his Paypal account along with his money. Paypal is not a good idea for this business. Cash, GD Moneypak, or gift cards for those providers who accept them is the best way.

BTW Gemma, you have a potty mouth and I like it :-)

Cuz it happens both ways... Look up at the thread above, a provider got screwed over by a hobbyist...  But this hobby life is as stated Not ROCKET SCIENCE- do the research, have basic manners, if you make a date with someone show up, .......etc etc etc...  It's sex!!! How the F- does that subject go so wrong ???? Lol ......

Consider the fact that she may have other male names going through her account.
If this is a regular occurrence on her part, and she has other John's complaining... they may see a pattern that will cause them to shut down your account (and hers) for fraudulent bank transfers. They really don't have to explain themselves either.

I did read, however, in their terms of agreement, that they do reserve access to your devices in which you log onto PayPal. I don't remember exact info on what they look at, but provided a link.

Obviously PayPal doesn't have time to search these things for every customer; however, give them a reason and your chance is higher. Just be very careful when reporting - or don't report at all and consider it a loss. If this situation means justice for you, and you feel strongly enough that you don't mind your PayPal being shut down, take everything out of your account, then report.

Proceed with caution.

I agree about emptying your Paypal account fast. If they have the slightest inkling of what's going on, they'll shut your account down as well. There is no negotiating with Paypal.

Thanks everyone for your great advice!  Really appreciate it:)  I'm going to email ter to confirm options. Rather get it right first time around. I also contacted PayPal and shall see what happens. You right, most people in this industry are fantastic so it just sucks when these few assholes take  front stage. Either way, lesson learned!
