I will write what i just wrote a week or so ago.  Downtown you will draw the downtown guys, burbs guys tend to avoid the city due to time, traffic, parking.  Burbs draw burbs guys but really do not attract city guys since many city guys do not have cars and or choose not to drive out of their neighborhoods.  Best thing to do is pick a Downtown location, either in the loop or the mag mile which are both popular and split your time between there and a location in the burbs.  Best locations noted there are Ohare area, Schaumburg area, Oakbrook area...
