Looking for interesting things to do while visiting your city. Never been here before and have no clue about the attractions, where to go or what to see. Any suggestions would be great.

Love, Joi

I really like walking around and observing. The stretch of Michigan Ave that starts at Mary Daly Park and ends at the Roosevelt is really great to people watch. Kingston Mines is great for live blues music and the Green Mill is best for jazz. If you're downtown and want to eat quick tacos, Velvet Taco in River North is delicious. Have fun, the city is going to have great weather this week.
Also! Don't forget to visit Daly Plaza.

I second the Green Mill and also like the Jazz Showcase in the South Loop, but then I've been going to its various locations since the mid-1970s. The owner, Joe Segal, has been giving the same spiel between sets for almost 70 years (not kidding, he started presenting jazz in Chicago in 1947).

Chicago has an enormous number of restaurants featuring pretty much any cuisine you would want. If you haven't tried stuffed pizza and don't mind gaining 5 pounds at one meal, you might enjoy that ;-).

I also like Sierra's suggestion of walking around, especially when it's 50 degrees in mid-December. One of these days it's going to get cold!!

One that that is going one right now, and is quite lovely, if it is not raining, is Zoo Lights, at the Lincoln Park Zoo. China Town is fun to walk around in, and of course to eat at. If you are into museums, we have some of the best to found. The Art Institute can consume a whole day, and I also love the Museum of Science and Industry. Kingston Mines if you like Blues music. And of course food....some of the best anywhere. You can find any type of cuisine at any level of service here. I hope you enjoy our city! It is a wonderful place
