Does anyone have any places or labs that they can suggest for STD testing in the Chicagoland/North Cook County area?  Also, how much does this type of thing generally cost when you are paying full boat with no insurance?  Can't go through my regular Dr. or insurance since the insurance comes through my SOs work and is in her name and she gets the bills.  I am sure that she would not be amused to find the % of the bill that we are responsible for is for this type of thing and I would be a dead man for sure.

Howard Brown Clinic is reasonable and anonymous.  I think it was $50 or so... check online.

ladies can get throat swabs there (gonorrhea and chlamydia can infect the back of the throat through unprotected cim and dt, and consequently spread to other males through the same acts), though they have to request this specifically through the nurse, not the receptionists. If a male has played with a TS or a fellow male, then getting a throat swab is also recommended.

One of the best parts of HB is that they are trying to make a new HIV test the gold standard which tests for the virus directly, instead of the antibody. As a result, the "window" is reduced to a month, as opposed to the standard 95% certain 3 months out, 100% certain 6 months out.

Getting tested at least every 6 months is a great way to go, and you'll feel a lot more comfortable about yourself and state of health after your checkups.

Around $150.  depends on the clinic too.   Is STD something to worry about when seeing providers ??  we all use condoms but i guess it is still possible.   BJ with no condom could spread STD, i am told.  and also Rimming can spread disease too.   but i am told pretty much 99% of the providers are AIDS free.   is this correct ?

They were the pioneers in anonymous comprehensive testing years ago, and used to be the only ones who would do a full panel.  I've always like that they used Quest Labs, so they had a zillion locations all over Chicagoland...though I can't tell from the site if they still do.  It looks like they may have switched affiliates.

If I decide to play again I may have to check this service out because I've never heard of tstd.org giving discounts.

For real dude?! If you get laid, you should get tested regularly. Even if your only diddiling the wife (ya never know). Your question is scary and disconcerting. Run, don't walk, to the nearest clinic, buddy. You can get an STD even if you use protection. Nothing is fool proof.

Highly active with multiple partners = high risk. Yes, you can reduce the risk be practicing very safe sex (and just using a condom is not quite enough), but then the risk is increased by how many partners your partners have. So you are in a very high risk population by any measure and should be tested regularly both for your own safety and peace of mind, as well as for the safety of every one else you visit.
