I'm located in the city and get many visitors from the 'burbs. It's not uncommon on our first visit together to listen to initial grumblings about city traffic, parking, etc. Of course, it doesn't seem to stop them from seeing me a 2nd, 3rd, 7th time.

Quite frankly, I think if you boys had your way, you'd be able to roll out of bed and right into your date!

Seriously though, how about just getting a zipcar membership? That way, you can see who you really want without a great deal of headache over where they're located, and they can stay where ever they please without having to listen to "business advice" (ie-grumblings .

Every visitor I've wanted to see recently has been downtown or deep in the city and I just can't go there. Eve is right - it does work both ways and we guys are looking for the fastest route to playtime. Beware, we're not the only ones who know how convenient the O'Hare area is - so does LE. Visitors need to consider their safety as well as convenience for their clients and I would never advise a visitor to put herself at risk for our convenience. Remember that if she's not in a safe area, you're at risk too.
