Reasons why you love Chicago. Personally out of all the cities iv and do tour Chicago is by, far my favorite because,
 1.  Variety of restaurants 😋
 2.  Eye catching architecture 😎
 3.  personally I really like the people that are here and that I've met here I guess I have a sense of humor that can handle "them" 😉
Great reasons if you don't live here.

If you live here Chicago isn't great;

1) High Property Taxes and anything else our Idiot Mayor can Tax.

2) Police killing the wrong people. Just read the latest news headlines.

3) Watch the movie "Chiraq" to see how bad it is to live here.

As long as you don't live here Chicago is great.

1. Property taxes are crazy low in the city compared to the burbs.

2. The police shooting people thing is happening all over the country and it's been happening for decades. The reason you're hearing about it now is because the media decided to hype it for ratings.

3. You want someone to judge an entire city based on a Hollywood film?

Get real.

You have the North side and you have the South side.  It was no different, really, than when I lived near Detroit. You have everything North of 8-mile, and everything else South of 8-mile. You have the near 3rd world conditions of the inner city, and then you have the affluent suburbs of Rochester Hills.

As a city, we just haven't been successful enough pushing all of the undesirables past the Indiana border.

But we're working on it.

1.  If you fly a lot nationally, it's a great place to live.  You're never more than a few hour direct flight from any mid-sized city or larger in the continental U.S.  O'Hare is great if you live here - tough if you're flying through here.

2.  If you went to a different restaurant every day, you'd never repeat yourself as long as you live.

3.  The escort community is the best.  While it's a little expensive, it's a very low BS group of fine ladies.  You don't run into a bait and switch much here.  I cannot say that for many other large cities.  TER is the top review site once a lady has a couple of reviews under her garter belt, you're golden.

I agree with your three. The architecture boat tour is awesome, just make sure to pick a nice day. Three things I like about Chicago:

1: The summers - always a block party going on somewhere.
2. The pizza.
3. Walking to a baseball game.

1. Like others have mentioned: Food here is everything.
2. The music scene is amazing. Rare is the weekend there isn't a good concert happening.
3. Due to the harsh winters (except for this one?!?!), the summers are a wild party. Everyone comes out to play :)

I am just back from vacation, and it's always good to be reminded of why you love the place you choose to live. I have lived several places around the world, and a few in The United States, and Chicago keeps me coming back, even though I despise cold weather. This past trip sealed the deal that will allow me to live/work in Chicago six months out of the year, and Florida during the winter months. I am ecstatic, that I will get to enjoy Chicago every year, but not have to deal with the bitter cold.

What I love:
Diversity....of everything. Food, people, culture. We have it all.
The Arts.....Modern art, the classics, architecture, music, the blues, CSO, theater....
Green Space.....for a large city, Chicago has a wealth of green spaces that are accessible to the public

Not to forget it's rivaling Detroit for bankruptcy.
