Try and use an incognito window or tab for chrome. For firefox use Private browsing when searching for something you do not want others to know what you are doing. These methods don't store cookies or browsing history on your comp. However it doesn't protect you from tracking sites. Also, sign out of all email/social media sites when browsing.

There was a special this week on Channel 5 news exposing companies that track Internet data. Channel 5 was able to buy a list of names and addresses of people who search for Internet porn, ED, addictions, etc.
Every time you log on A site there are companies that pay to grab your personal information. Not to mention the NSA lol!

There are ways to protect your privacy, including getting a VPN provider, or using programs like disconnect or ghostery to block data tracking sites. Nothing, I'm sure, is foolproof, however, so be careful and be safe. It's a jungle out there!

First, install and use Firefox or Chrome. They allow all kinds of privacy add-ons while Internet Explorer does not seem to have the same type of add-ons available.

Then in Firefox, install Ad Block Plus, NoScript, and Better Privacy. You can get these through the Firefox add-on section in the browser. Chrome has similar add-ons.

Other options:

Ghostery:

https://www.eff.org/privacybadger

These last 2 help block the advertising cookies that track you and sell your info. You should be able to get by with the first group but these are alternatives in case you don't like the first list.

I hope this helps a bit.
