Considering the way Gas prices are going......

What are we to do about it?  There are always two sides of the store.  I could say I have to raise my donation to meet with gas prices but then I would lose hobbist.  I could leave my donation the way it is but take the loss.  So what is your opinion on this subject?  I am sure that the economy is going to take a major turn, worst than Nine Eleven..............

I just don't get it....our gas in America is amoung the cheapest in the world. But to say that you're losing money now on gas....? That's impossible. If gas went from $2.70 then goes to $3.00...on a 15 gallon tank, thats $4.50 more per tank.People freak out about gas....how 'bout not eating out at a restaurant one less time per month, and now you've made up for the extra 30 cents per gallon.Yes, gas is getting expensive. But if you drive 25 miles to an outcall, how much extra $ are you spending....90 cents? Raise your rates cause you think you're losing money now??? Pleaseeeee.....

I would love to offer more Schaumburg incalls, but it's 120 miles roundtrip for me to get up there.

My car is paid off and runs just fine but it gets the standard 20 miles to the gallon.  I'm considering trading it in for a diesel volkswagon jetta that will get me 45 miles per gallon on the highway.

I don't believe in getting rid of my cars until they are absolutely beyond repair but if I keep the current one I face not being able to drive as freely as I used to.

Look at it this way, if I make one trip to see family, one trip to see friends, and one trip to Schaumburg for work, that's $90 in gas.  I tried staying home this week instead of visiting friends and family and I'm losing my damn mind LOL.

I shouldn't have to debate if I'm going to go to the Ren Fair this weekend and my cousin's b-day party because of the gas prices and each is 100 miles away from me.

An alternate option to your question?  Drop rates for incalls close to home and keep them the same or raise them for incalls far from home.  (I know you sometimes travel even farther than I do for incalls)  I'm seriously considering it myself.  I would also guess that  hobbyists are now limiting how far they will travel to see a lady because of the gas prices.

I'd rather get my playtime in that sit at home bored off my butt any day LOL.

Just got off the phone with my aunt in Italy and got NO sympathy from her since they are paying around $7 a gallon and have for years.

But they have a much better public transportation system than we do and aren't so dependent on their cars.

Don't get me wrong.  I have the utmost respect for JC and Olivia and you deserve every penny you get.  But let's put this in perspective.  If a provider works 10hr/week at $200(which is quite low) minus 12 weeks for monthly monsters and 8 weeks(high) for vacations, she will earn $60,000 tax free or app. $78 - 80K a year tax.  That places you in the top 10% of wage earners in the US.  Now while you can't drive a Maserati and drink Cristal daily with that...it still aint a bad living wage.

$300/hr or more in Chicago is well deserved by the providers I have seen, but it still is expensive, even for us who too must pay these gas prices.  If the hourly rates go up, I will simply save my ducats and go to Dallas for a nice weekend or the Venezuela where the average price will all extras is under $100/hr US.

Just my $.02 pretty girl.  But hey baby, make all da money that you can.  :)

The last time I checked, I couldn't ask for a raise because gas prices were going up. We'll all have to adjust our lifestyles to meet this change. Angling for money or for discounts will put a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Biz is already slowing for lots of women and your price is your price, but if you start using this logic, you'll run off a few people or more. Whatever part of town best suits your biz is where you go, simple as that. Downtown is a hardship for me, not because of gas, but the time it takes and Chicago's unpredictable traffic. If I wanted to have a midday tryst it can be hit or miss, so I have to wait until its late or stick to areas that are convenient, but I often miss out on ladies I would love to see and who do not do the burbs.

I have a friend that just bought a used Diesel Volkswagon Jetta, and has converted it to run on used cooking oil. He found a site on the internet that intructs one how to do it, and connects you to people who have done it. The hardest part is finding a supplier. He connected with a Major Chicago area University, and they agreed to let him have all the oil he wants from their schools kitchen. Ordinarily they have to pay to dispose of it anyway. With the price of gas this idea may really catch on.

I wanna smell like a big fry traveling down the road LOL.

But yeah, using old cooking oil is a great idea that I hope catches on.  Using natural gas is also an option but if prices go to what they were in the winter of 00/01 it won't save you much and it's still a fossil fuel.

I saw a newsclip the other week about a guy who built a hybrid gasoline/hydrogen engine for his car.  The fuel for the hydrogen part? Water!  He said he could have made the whole thing run on water if he had wanted too.  The best part is, it releases only oxygen and water vapor into the atmosphere.

Popular Science had an article a few years ago saying the the Jeep liberty was going to have a hydrogen engine when it was released but to date they haven't put the hydrogen engine into production.  It would have run on hydrogen tablets and converted the solid tablets into hydrogen gas as needed.  (No worry about the family cruising vessel going Zepplin in case of a crash.

We have alternatives to fossil fuel.  Some of the car companies are looking into hydrogen (Jeep, Ford and BMW to name some) but to date haven't put any into mass production.  Now if only they gan get with that guy who's converting water into hydrogen... :)

Due to having to screen out nearly half the people who contact me because of no references or rs2k and having to pass on a huge chuck that want to see me in 30 minutes or less or not at all (I am not Dominos LOL) I typically see anywhere from 0-3 people a week.  Sometimes I see more than that, but again, with the lack of people prebooking or being able to be screened these days...

I could go to swinger clubs but the ones I have found seem to want couples only.  I could go to AFF or ALT, but the people I have found on there want relationships and I don't want that.  I just want to have some no strings attached fun within the safety of the hobby.

So I get to live out my fantasies a few times a week.  You're probably thinking "why not see clients for free or a discount then?" I have done that in the past, but then they think that I want to date them instead of seeing it as a compliment to their prowess.  Also if my rates are too low people start wondering WHY they are so low and stay away.

I do this basically for the same reason hobbyists do: I want the variety and fun, I don't want my personal life complicated with dating, and I don't want any issues from the other person once the meeting is over.

Now if only I could find more guys into roleplaying and kinkier fare... ;)

You converted an old Citroen or Renault to run on cooking oil. Would that make you smell like a french fry? Thanks for the info on the hydrogen fuel systems. You seem to be up on your energy sources. By the way, I just wanted to let you know I'm the happy owner of a Diamond Jim video you made with Stretch Dickstrong, and JC. Nice work !! I've watched it many times and I have become a big fan of yours. Also, your new pics look great.

AMEN! Overreaction is a disease that this country needs to eliminate. Thank god I'm not the only one who realizes that the sky isn't falling. If Saudi Arabia calls and says, "Oops, by the way, we're out of oil," then I'll worry.

she is unable to reply to the board as she is out of town.  :P

As far as traveling to an incall goes. When I am in Schaumburg it's a 120 miles round trip.  So that works out to $35 in gas for me to get there currently.  But I keep Schaumburg on the roster because I have been there for a long time and have gents that prefer that location to Joliet.

Gas prices may go up but it should be a short term spike. Suck it up for a while, take (gasp!) public transportation as much as possible, cut back someplace else in your life and it will be fine. As others mentioned, even if gas went up a $1/gallon, that is only $30 a fill up.  How many times in your life have you plunked down $30 for a manicure, make up, or some other luxury item without batting an eyelash.

As for the economy taking a downturn worse than 9/11, I'm not so sure about that.  A hurricane and flood is a far different type of catastrophe than a terrorist attack.  We'll see some ups and downs in the economy no doubt, but I can't see it dramatically hampering our economy. In fact, once all the dust settles, it will have some positive impact with all the jobs and work that will result from the multi year clean up and rebuilding of NOLA and the other cities that need to be rebuilt from the ground up.

As it said in the Post, I just wanted your opinions on this.  I am actually lower my rates for RS2 members for this weeks special.  So get over your bad selves and stop thinking what is not there.  I was NOT saying I am going to raise my rates or do anything otherwise.  I just started a conversation.  Sorry I opened my mouth maybe next time I will be like everyone else without an opinion.

Wisconsin for the weekend..............  I just got back today and if I was so concerned about the prices why would I go out of town.  Because I really don't care about the prices and I care about my family.

And that is exactly what you got, people's opinions. As the adage goies, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it!

Don't take things personally JC, you'll need a thick(er) skin if you want to hang out on the boards :)
