if a gentleman is a member of TER and has not given any reviews verify THOROUGHLY.
Even if he has posted reviews, it is no guarantee that they are not fictional reviews (or more fictional).

Also, a guy can agree to give up his TER handle in exchange for leniency. Same for the ladies too (she gives up her handle).

A friend of mine got busted not too long ago and while they were booking her one of the cops was attempting to sign  up for TER!.Please , if a gentleman is a member of TER and has not given any reviews verify THOROUGHLY.There have been many stings and cops keep pushing the limits of how far they can go during an appointment/bust. The only way to protect yourself is through verification.

I wish our laws weren't so damn puritanical. There are a hell of a lot worse things going on than consenting adults making a transaction involving sex.  I would add that your advice to providers applies to hobbyists as well.

Not that this is a positive thread ... But, if you are trying to turn over a new leaf, stop complaining so much.

but I just can't be positive about what the OP described. It's discouraging, and I don't see anything to be positive about in it.  I want to be positive, but at the same time, I don't want to be phony.  At the end of the day, I gotta be myself.

Then don't say anything. Leave out the first two sentences of your original post. It is a common complaint, so no need to repeat.

Oh yes I tell hobbyists all the time not to see girls who don't verify especially if they aren't reviewed bc it could either be a sting or the provider will not be the same one in the picture 99% of the time.

As if a judge or the states attorney gives a rats ass about a TER handle. Come on now, where did you get this from?

So LE can use it to disguise themselves as an established hobbiest, duh!

Yeah really. can you imagine Jack McCoy offering a one-time deal that expires the minute I walk out this door.  25 to life, unless you give up your TER handle - then it's only 10-15 years.

In the process of being busted, the cop may offer to go lenient on the guy (give him ticket vs. booking at the station, no need to contact your wife/employer to ask them questions, etc.) if the guy offers to give them his hobby handle so they can bust other ladies.

Similar for the lady. It is not unheard of for LE to bust a lady at her incall location, and then take over her identity for the next few days to bust guys booking/coming for a date.

Obviously, it is best for the gal/guy never to say anything, but when s/he is in the middle of it, s/he may only be thinking about his az, and not thinking too clearly.

If you don't think it happens, then dream on.

Let's assume you are correct and the cops detain you for suspicion of prostitution, unless of course you solicited an officer, they can have no more than suspicion.

Surrendering your TER handle means nothing. The ladies in most cases don't care what your handle is and almost never really use it for verification purposes. The fact that Johnny Law has access to it, hopefully you aren't dumb enough to give a password, gives them very little to work with.  They have your handle but can't book appointments that way, they have your handle but not a password.

Now, interesting enough the cops did try this in DC and had a horrible time with it. I think it actually caused them a bunch of problems that could be better discussed on our Legal Board by someone who knows a lot more about that stuff than I do.

If you have a whitelist then ladies will set up appointments with just your TER handle.

You can ask on the legal board if that's plausible. "Giving up" your handle as part of a plea deal would pretty much amount to you confessing to the validity and accuracy of all your reviews. For the record, as the disclaimer says, it's all fantasy folks! If it stops being fantasy, and you attest to all those facts, you're going to be charged with X counts of whatever they want to charge you with. Rather than the 1 count of what they still have to prove. What your saying simply doesn't make sense to me.

My friend got busted seeing an established lady who herself got busted by not checking refs. She got off by continuing to book guys for two days while LE busted anyone who showed up. Also, the cops listed things that he said that he swears he did not. He has been around a longtime.

This did not happen in this area, but is similar to the Daley Lane incident, which did happen around here. A TER handle might make it easier for LE to go after more established providers or clients instead of low hanging fruit (backpage).
