I am pretty new to all this. Only seen one provider. She was ok with other forms do ID instead of references. I would like to see another provider who requires references. What's the etiquette for references? Is it like resume references? Should I give the provider I am using a heads up?

I always give my references a heads up. It's good form and polite. Usually you send name, website, email and/or phone number of the provider(s) you're using.

Follow the above advise.  But first, if you want to use another lady as a reference, get her take on it first.  Not all give references.
