I need a toy store

I will be traveling thru Chicago next month with a fine lady on a 3 city getaway.  Given the new baggage check rules and regs we don't really want to pack her toys and lube.  Any suggestions as to where we might find a nice adult toy store near the House Of Blues Hotel?  We will have a rental car so we cadrive but prefer not to have to go too far.

I can't think of a location near the House of Blues, but up north a bit on Broadway there is a great store called the Treasure Chest.  It's not really that far from the hotel, but traffic is usually slows it down a bit.  Still, it's a good store.  Hope this helps.

I just noticed I mistyped.  The store is called the Pleasure Chest.  Play on words makes all the difference.

I think you're thinking of the Pleasure Chest which is on Broadway, just south of Belmont.  There's another store in the area called Cupid's Treasures (I think) which is on Halsted just south of Addison.

Parking in the area is a bitch (lots of residental permit parking and not very many meters or lots).

It's about a $15-20 cab ride from Loop/River North area.  If you don't mind public transit and walking, take the red line to Addison or Belmont, walk towards the lake (east) and you'll hit Halsted and Broadway.  There's a cool little store called Flashy Trash just south of Cupid's (and on the other side of the street).

BTW ladies, if you want to hit a lesbian bar, the Closet is on Broadway, just north of Belmont.

Closer to River North, I believe there was an adult bookstore on State, just north of Chicago on the west side of the street.  In the Loop, I remember a place on Wells under the el tracks, just north of Washington on the west side of the street.  Do not drive to these places since free parking is close to impossible, and if you're already in the area, a long walk will probably do you good (although cabbing it isn't a bad option either).  Close to HoB, there's a booth joint (Bare Assets?) on Clark just north of the HoB (Clark might be a street over from HoB) and there might be a couple places right near there that sell toys/lube/books/magazines/videos.  Don't be surprised if they ask for $1 admission to walk into these places (they give you $1 off your purchase though).

Of course, it's been a while since I've been in town so my info may be dated.

Yes indeed the Pleasure Chest, the turn of phrase makes all the difference.  After I saw my post, I thought uh oh I told them about Treasure Island grocery.  My bad, sorry for the confusion.

TJ's is between Dearborn & Clark. There's another called Hubbard St. Bookstore, a little west of Clark. Both are on Hubbard, which is 2 blocks north of the House of Blues. The Pleasure Chest the gentleman mentioned is in my neighborhood and is really quite far from the House of Blues. But it is pretty large and has LOTS of toys, so if you have transportation you could take a look.

There's also another store on State & Chestnut, which is not really that far from the House of Blues(short cab ride). I forget the name right now, but it's in the middle of the block on State between Chestnut & Delaware. There's also the Erotic Warehouse on Randolph & Green(I think), but it's west of the House of Blues and you'll have to drive, but not that far. You should find what you need in at least one of the stores I mentioned. But if you don't want to drive, you'll have to use only the first two I mentioned, they're in walking distance from the House of Blues.

there's a video/toy store on Hubbard a block and a half away from the HOB
