"Minimize your risks" and " Not a river in Egypt"

Here's the story. Saw an ad for a girl here in Rockford on Backpage some time ago and talked to her. We'd made plans for her to pose for some photos for me. It never worked out at that time, but over the weekend I saw another ad from her.

I went ahead and called her and we met up at the Motel 6. I made a rookie mistake in trusting someone that'd I'd been exchanging emails and texts with for a while. She ran off with $75.

I immediately wrote a bad review here, but also spent $5 to put up a Backpage ad warning others that she's a thief. It was promptly taken down. I was told that those sorts of ads aren't allowed.

Looking at their TOS, I don't see that I posted anything against the rules. You'd think they'd want warnings like that. It's good for customers, good for honest providers, and even good for thieves like the one who ripped me off. The next guy who she does that to might not be as nice as me.

Indeed —at least Neva WAS back.  Seems the Cityelist ad "Neva-is-back-more-exotic-than-ever-26" has been pulled.

In fact, trying to log on to the Cityelist website main page obtains a message saying, with the usual IT clarity of expression "Unable to connect to your database server using the provided settings."

Meanwhile, I believe I have seen ads or notices in the Backpage "Adult Entertainment" listings warning of cash-and-dash and other provider scams.

All I ever see are complaints...don't have a clue as to why people keep, going to a source that has such a bad rep!
There must be something good about it, or why is it still in business?

Denial. These people believe that this is a river in Egypt, when it is in fact exactly what it states....denial!  They think they are too smart to get caught in the web of deceit that exist on bp!  They have the not me disease.  Then, when it happens to them, they are clueless. Even though, they have heard they weren't listening.  This time it was only $75. Hopefully they will have learned their lesson and move on from that mess. Otherwise, the next time could be there health, worse yet their life, or God forbid tens and maybe hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue and Or legal fees for divorce proceedings and loss of job because of LE complications.  Then and only maybe they will realize that it really really really is not worth it.

I'd bet there are some less then scrupulous agencies out there too.  Nothing Is the end all be all In this rackett.

"Minimize your risks" and " Not a river in Egypt"

...you did come off A little preachy.  No offense intended.

Agreed.  I knew better, but I let my guard down. I'm just as mad at myself as I am at the chick.

requires scrutiny. If you dig beyond the surface, whether its Eros, BP, et. al, you can generally determine what's what. I use it on a limited basis and have met some decent folks.

you say she ran off with 75 bucks.... I would bet that most providers in that price range dash more frequent then the more expensive providers.

go for discount prices.... expect discount service.
