undercover prostitution sting near O’Hare Airport uncovered a surprise that may have some Johns worried now: the alleged prostitute had an elaborate hidden camera network and about 30 hours of secretly-recorded footage of her encounters, authorities said Thursday.

It’s not yet clear to investigators why the sex acts were being recorded, but Cook County sheriff’s police are sifting through the footage to try to identify the Johns. They want to find out if the videos have been distributed or if they have been used as leverage against the Johns, authorities said.

The bust happened Monday in an apartment building in the 5400 block of North East River Road — an unincorporated area near Chicago’s Northwest Side. Sheriff’s police answered an online ad promising a “superb authentic oriental rub” by a 28-year-old “beautiful, highly trained and skilled young lady” who “is there to please,” authorities said.
For $180, customers were promised an “all inclusive . . . tissue rub” and “a totally relaxing experience,” authorities said.

Once inside, Guo Yu, 53, offered an undercover officer sex for cash. She then briefly left the bedroom and looked at a video monitor connected to a camera positioned in the hallway outside the apartment, authorities said.

On the monitor, Yu spotted a line of officers waiting to raid the apartment. She then returned to the bedroom and nervously began talking to the undercover officer, authorities said.

The waiting officers entered the apartment and arrested Yu, who insisted she was only going to give a massage, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Patterson said. “The officers pointed out she was completely naked,” he said.

The officers soon spotted a network of hidden cameras, including a pin-sized camera in a wall fan, cameras in the bedroom and cameras in the hallway, authorities said.

The cameras were wired to a recording system in a separate bedroom. The apartment was also equipped with jamming equipment to block cell phone calls and text messages in the apartment, authorities said.

Officers found about 30 hours of footage dating back four years. The tapes show sex acts and customers handing over money, authorities said. Yu was charged with prostitution.
