Also the Elgin area has a casino that might bring lots of people from all over the state.  But Schaumburg is nice.

I am getting a lot of requests for these areas and I know nothing about them, except that I did do a dinner date in Oakbrook and it looks very nice.  Upscale business area with nice hotels (chains) and restaurants.  I can see the appeal for the gusy who don't want to go into the city.
Ladies, do you recommend adding Oakbrook to my schedule?
Guys, how many prefer this area to Downtown or OHare?
Thanks for th input; I am still feeling my way around the Chicago market/area.

that providers stay. Downtown, O'Hare, Oakbrook/Lombard and Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates.  Other than downtown, they're close to all of the major tollways/expressways, which makes them convenient locations depending on where you live.  As you posted, they all have upscale business areas, with nice hotels (chains) and restaurants.

I'm a Schuamburg/HE guy...........

The Oak Brook/Lombard area is very nice.  I use to see my ATF in that area before she retired, as well as a few other providers.  Lots of nice hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls (Oakbrook Center, Yorktown).

The Schaumburg/Hoffman Estate area (NW burbs) is also popular, as another poster mentioned.  Like Oak Brook, there are also lots of nice hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls (Woodfield Mall is one of the largest).

Parking is much easier out in the burbs and usually no hotel parking fees like in downtown Chicago.  The only drawback of either location is the rush hour traffic, if commuting from the city

Also the Elgin area has a casino that might bring lots of people from all over the state.  But Schaumburg is nice.

......I guess it's just a matter of you trying it out ESPECIALLY if you're already getting a lot of requests for that area it just makes sense right?  :)

Problem is I would have to rent a car.  We shall see...play safe, y'all!!

Suburban guys like the suburbs and hate the city (traffic and expensive parking).  I prefer Oakbrook/Lombard area  O'Hare/Schaumberg are equal.  Going into the City must be really, really special.  Depending upon your stay, you can do two locations (O'Hare and then the City).  This gives you two types of hobbyists.  You can take taxis to O'Hare locations (some hotels have free shuttles) and take the train to the city (about 45 minutes) and back to O'Hare.    You might consider limos to Oakbrook from O'Hare (about $40).  A lot cheaper than renting a car in my book.

I will base myself Downtown, but don't mind taking the train out to O'Hare for appointments.  I love the Rosemont/O'Hare South area, with the upscale hotels and restaurants.
Looking forward to my Chicago adventure!!
And thanks for the input.
You are all so welcoming and helpful.
Smiley face.
