He agreed to all of my terms, including cancellation policy, and then flakes last minute costing me $$$. He has promised over and over to pay the fee, but has given me the run around. I'm sorry this happened to you, especially for a multi-hour engagement. But to be clear, just because a client did it once does not universally make him a bad client. You mentioned that he was well verified and recommended. I'm naively guessing that he decided to go with a different provider on that day, so your loss was probably some other provider's gain. You probably were never his number one choice on that day anyway. The bright side to the story, if any, is that the reverse may also happen to you sometime.
As a client, I myself have been complicit of the same once, but your post made me realize that it actually does matter, so thanks.
The reason is merit less to me. When a client makes a booking with me, they agree to the terms, including cancellation policy, or I won't accept the booking. If they do agree and do not complete their obligation either way, I will blacklist and announce their behavior to other providers. This cost me money and I could have easily booked another gentleman in his place, if another provider was seen is no concern of mine. Not the way I work.
My intent is not to come across negatively. I checked out your website and p411 page and don't see anything about a cancellation policy, fee, blacklist threat, or anything described above. Maybe I missed it? If I was a client and had to cancel for a legit reason any time before the meeting time there is no way I'd agree to pay a fee nor would I expect to be blacklisted. Now if they just did not show without notice, that's different but still don't understand how a fee comes into play. Did you have a legal agreement or contract with the gentlemen outside your website?
I'd personally never agree to pay a cancellation fee, if that was part of the deal I'd just pass on by. I've had many (15/20%) of dates, mostly extended types, cancel for one reason or another...it seems to be part of the deal on both sides. Life seems to happen to everyone at inopportune times. I've never had anyone pay me for my lost time, effort, gifts acquired, travel made or hotel rooms booked.

Before I commit to a booking, a confirmation email is sent to the client, including all of the booking info, etiquette requirements and cancellation policy, which the client did respond and say "agree to all terms". Therefore, yes, I do enforce my cancellation policy and I don't commit to a booking with clients if they don't respond to the confirmation email. If clients don't agree that is fine, but this is my business and I have to right to do business as I feel necessary and right for myself. I have no issue if someone doesn't agree with my policies and therefore doesn't want to see me.

I have found that most of the men here are pretty solid and true blue when they make an appointment. Too bad you ran into one of the rare flakes. It is such a simple thing to pay the cancellation fee to a women if something, or someone else comes up. Paying a fee just avoids a lot of hassle, ill will, and potential blacklisting. Hope he comes thru for you.
