Hi All,
I wanted to know what symptoms are for AIDS and where is a reliable secret place to get tested for HIV.
I have seen a few provider in the past...around last year August  and I suspect something...no encounter was uncovered though...
In last 10 yrs I never caught cold....but since January this year I am seeing that I am getting cold very frequently...apart from that...nothing else...but I am beginning to get worried a lot...

Please help

he says that he hobbied this past August, and as an aside he has not had so much as a cold in the past 10 years.

no where does the OP say he has been hobbying for 10 years with out being tested.

I think they have home tests in Walgreens/CVS so check it out or ask the pharmacy

Check the CDC website and other outlets for information about HIV symptoms.  If you have never been tested during your last 10 years of hobbying (presumably), then shame on you.

Honestly, if the last time you saw a provider was August this could be completely unrelated. There seems to be some sort of stigma out there that if you see a provider then any medical conditions that develop MUST be an STD or HIV.

Seriously, if you've never as much as caught a cold in the last 10 years, then when was the last time you saw a doctor for an annual physical/check-up, or just good ol' basic bloodwork?

There's a lot of underlying medical conditions that could cause this. The most basic being that everyone's a little more stressed and sleep deprived due to the current state of the world and those things actually lower your immunity. Or, based on that 10 year mark, you could just be getting old.

Not a medical professional, but recommend you just get your annual physical. If you're worried about HIV, do the anonymous test thing in parallel. Based on your symptoms, I highly doubt that a doctor will jump up and tell you that you need to get tested for HIV first. A CBC panel sounds like a sound plan, however.

Awesome testing and it's cheaper than most full panel tests. Plus, some of the proceeds benefit S.W.O.P. Chicago. Oh..and a 2 day turnaround.

I am just 32...so certainly young....
I agree... in last 6 months...I have been extremely stressed due to family issues and also have not been able to sleep for more than 5-5.5 hours except a little longer on the weekend...may be that caused it...

Havent done a check up in last 10 yrs since I never fell sick...like in the other reply no cold, cough, fever, vomitting, diarrhea, allergy, headaches....etc...

But in anycase like you suggest, I should do basic bloodwork and get HIV test done for peace of mind...

My bad for not being clear...Like I mentioned in other reply,I have seen two provider for the first time in 2010 and last encounter was in August...

What I was saying is for last 10 years I never caught cold...for that matter my health has been absolutely perfect....no cold,fever, flu, vomitting, headaches, diarrhea, allergies...etc....no usual illness that most of us face when seasons change etc

So when caught cold this time around.....and about 3 time since January, I am beginning to worry that my immunity has got lower....and I was afraid that HIV is causing it....so I thought I ask in the forum...
