Doesn't matter to me as long as I like their work and they are truly professional and respectful.

I have always been curious as when providers have photos taken by professionals, do they prefer male or female photographers - or does it even matter?   Oh, and for argument sake, say both are equally as talented.

I have had photo sessions with both male and female photogs and I do prefer female photogs. I can't say exactly why...perhaps it is more comfortable in this particular setting and arrangement?

I prefer my men in bed (or on a chair or the stairs or the dining room table or swinging on a vine). :)

in all the times i have had photos taken .. they have been guys my dates taking my pics   i feel more comfortable with them ..  :-)

Really?  Is that something you set up in advance as that sounds like it could be of mutual enjoyment.  Not sure how you would transfer the files though, especially if you desired any post production.  Interesting though.

I have had photos done by both sexes.

The key to a good photographer:

A) Must be professional.  A photo session is not the time to "hit on" the lady.  I am paying for photos.  I am not looking for a date.

B) Attention to detail.  The photographer should pay attention to the background and the model.  If the bed pillow case has slipped off, the stocking has slipped, etc., the photographer should make me aware so that I don't wind up with 10 or 20 pictures in a set unusable.

C) My time is valuable also.  If I have scheduled a 4:00 shoot, I expect to start at 4, unless you have communicated with me about any delay.  Also photos should be delivered "on time."

D) I should receive all of my photos on disk.  The photos should be removed from the photographers camera and PC.

E) I am not a professional model.  As such, I rely on the photographer to help me with poses.

F) The photographer should be imaginative with photo ideas that differentiate this shoot from an amateur shoot or a Sears Portrait Studio sitting.
