Not necessarily, but I've tried all over home town of Chicago and burbs, and have traveled western and central Michigan, and have hit Hammond and Rockford and Peoria and Springfield where some kind-of well known clubs exist, and have found nothing even remotely comparable to clubs in Tampa, Miami, Lauderdale, and a few other cities (haven't been to Vegas in a while, but hear things are rumbling there) where a private lap dance is the real deal and, depending on the girl, often even more.  As for this part of the country, across the Mississippi from St. Louis, in Sauget and Centerville and Brooklyn (the latter two being sleazier than Sauget, but you never know  because had a dancer at Crystal Palace in Centerville once who was absolutely stylish, gorgeous, petite, wonderfully enhanced-stacked, and willing willing willing in their private lap dance area).  Best bet down there probably is PTs in Sauget, 2 minutes after crossing I64 bridge.  I visit there whenever in the area, and often (not always, but nowhere is "always") find really quality girls and lap dances in their nicely private lap dance area.  I honestly know of nothing closer, and believe me, I've looked.  But also believe me when I say I hold the standard pretty damn high, so maybe Hammond serves some purpose where lesser expectations are involved.  In Chicago, I ultimately just add up the money saved by forgoing the clubs till enough there for a good provider, and have my fun that way.  Not a great answer because spreads out the good times, and not all good providers really are that good, but I follow TER reviews closely and it works for me.  And the fact that I'm able to get down to Tampa fairly often for several days at a time never hurts.  Good luck ...
