I never see hobbiests calling each other names or disrespecting anyone who doesn't go along with his pov the way that MTA does. As a member of the board I would expect to be moderated if I called anyone I disagreed with names on a constant basis. The mods usually step in pretty quick when tempers rise, but when it is MTA causing the ruckus he always seems to be able to say whatever he wants with impunity. Im not talking about this one thread, but behavior going back years. To me this begs the question, Are there special rules for agencies or are they held to the same standards of behavior as us hobbiests? If they are supposed to be held to the same standards Id like to hear from hobbiests that have been moderated and what the reasons were.
I have to agree Axxel in regards to the name calling. Generally, posts by non-moderated members are going to slip by at times. Thanks for pointing this out, and helping to make us aware of the situation. Funtimes and myself aren't around constantly, so hostility can erupt at times. In this case, I would issue the same warning to MTA that I would anyone else, to just stick with the facts, and lay off the name calling. I am including a link to a post by Admin regarding this subject, from the newbie board, that explains the policy clearly. Ignoring these rules will result in being moderated.
When I was a paying member I was moderated twice without any warning or explanation and I’m still being moderated. (My best guess is that someone went crying to mommy because I wrote something they didn't like.) That treatment is the main reason I'm not a paying member anymore. I don't know if the rules are different, but I trust the current moderators to be fair and even-handed with everyone who posts. And if some unmoderated poster gets out of hand, I also believe they will deal with that person according to TER rules. It wasn't always like that around here in the not-too-distant past.
Just an FYI for everyone. Sojourner and I have a lot of pride when it comes to this board and the way it is run. Many many times I have approved threads that I strongly disagreed with, because that's my job. Impartiality, plain and simple. A learned behavior for me.
If at anytime you feel that you are not being dealt with fairly, just send Sojourner7 or myself a PM and say "Hey, WTF, why am I getting unfairly treated. As some of you know, I'm fairly tough with a few of the rules, but heck I'll let you bend most of them once. Don't fuck with the ladies weekly ads by saying or posting negative comments, and have some balls,if that fits your particular situation, and say what you have to say without hiding behind an alias. The alias posts really get this board fired up and we don't get paid overtime when the board is flaming away. I hate aliases.
This is your board, have fun with it and play fair, that's all we ask. In turn, we are committed to being fair and honest with you. The Chicago Board is one of the best boards on TER. Let's keep it that way.
I was moderated long ago for a post far far away on another board that I don't even remember other than I thought it was funny. Have been ever since and I prefer it this way because it keeps me from saying something I might regret later. I'm very opinionated (ya think?) but as long as the mods are fair, moderation is fine.
As for MTA, he sometimes makes statements that he SHOULD regret but doesn't. Those of us who can think without our dicks can and do vote with our pocketbooks which speak much more loudly than any post on this board. If you find an agency owner offensive, I suggest you register your displeasure by not patronizing that agency.

Ive been here since 01, and I would like to thank the current mods as I don't think the board has ever been moderated better. I was warned and rightfully so to ease up when I was recently exposing a troll, the mod stepped in the thread and the thread ended. The agencies who used to think they ruled the board have toned down their rhetoric since the new mods have established themselves but I don't recall them ever being warned in their threads when they cross the line. I was/am wondering if they are warned in private. Thanks for answering my question and I look forward to the same set of standards being applied to everyone on the board.
To the moderators first, the board second and Radcow last. First off let me say that the term used, has been used many times by myself and even towards myself. I believe in calling a spade, a spade and when I find myself acting moronic, I refer to myself as a moron. Although not exactly a term of endearment, to me, it is not the worst word in the dictionary.
Perhaps if I had used the word "strange", it might not be considered so offensive. Strange it was indeed that even after listing two links to two separate threads where people had expressed their confusion and being told by me and two others, the reason for the post, Radcow continued to post to the thread that nobody was confused. He might not have been confused and people who know MTA might not be confused but new people on here could be and were obviously according to the two threads.
One thing is probably certain now..... They are no longer confused! Once again.... "My Apologies"! and I will heed the warning!

As someone who enjoys participating in discussions I find that tying to do so while moderated is pretty much a waste of time. By you post to a thread the dicussion is often over. Doc
is my Hero! Personally I think he's just about the nicest guy. (& yes I'm a woman, & no I don't work for him)
You don't see enough people posting threads about how AWESOME someone else is? There's enough negativity against us all here in Chicago, how about some LOVE?
The ones that I hate the most are the ones I approve where they call me an asshole. It's not that they're wrong, but I should be able to let someone else approve those. That's what's great about 2 mods, lol.
You guys do a great job, but if I may suggest a different approach to aliases. Use them. I have more than most users (take a look, lol). Besides, if you get bored, use one to start shit and then leave the mess to your partner. I'm posting it here so that GaGambler doesn't see it, lol.
Praise in public and give warnings in private. No one likes to be reprimanded in public. Unless someone does something stupid, that is what I try and do.
I used to work for him and he is an amazing man. I was sick and then he let me come back after 2 months. Someone was trying to talk shit about him once and I was not having it! Mike you rock! I would trust you with my kids. If I ever have any! Yes, mad love to Mike!
